Coach professional identity is the coach's deep recognition of their profession and their confidence and expectations when interact with his work environment.This paper mainly conducts a field survey of grassroots volleyball training coaches composed of amateur sports school volleyball coaches and traditional project school volleyball coaches in Henan Province through questionnaires and interviews to understand the professional identity of these coaches.The research in this paper is mainly divided into three steps:1.By reading a large amount of literature on teacher professional identity,we summarize 10 dimensions that are representative of professional identity,then,we invited experts to screen by questionnaires,and six dimensions of value identification,emotional identification,ability identification,continuous identification,input identification and social identification were obtained.2.Ten questions are set in each dimension,experts are invited to screen through questionnaires,and the final screening results are compiled into questionnaires.3.The questionnaire was distributed and recycled,and the results were collated.The data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance and independent sample T test.Finally,the following conclusions are drawn: 1.The occupational recognition degree of the grassroots volleyball training coaches in Henan Province is generally at the upper-middle level,but there are significant differences among individuals with different variables.2.Grassroots coaches of different genders do not have significant differences in professional identity.3.Grassroots coaches of different ages and different teaching ages have significant differences in professional identity,and the level of recognition has declined first and then increased.4.There is no significant difference in professional identity between grassroots coaches of different academic qualifications and sports levels.5.Grassroots coaches with different monthly incomes have significant differences in professional identity,and the level of recognition has also declined first and then increased.6.There is no significant difference in professional identity between different school districts and categories ofgrassroots coaches.7.The grassroots coaches with different training working hours have significant differences in professional identity,and the level of recognition decreases with the increase of training work time.8.There is no significant difference in professional identity between grassroots coaches with different sports experiences and years of exercise.In response to a series of characteristics of the professional identity of the grassroots volleyball training coaches in Henan Province,we propose the following suggestions:1.Starting from the source of grassroots sports,emphasizing the importance of grassroots sports training.2.Reasonably allocate teaching resources to provide better training support for grassroots coaches.3.Establish a variety of incentive mechanisms,establish a fair and appropriate evaluation mechanism,and improve the material life guarantee of grassroots coaches.4.Strengthen the training of coaches and provide more opportunities for promotion to prevent the “highland phenomenon”.5.The coaches should adjust their mentality and strengthen their professional identity.
