Purpose:This study explored the acute effects of Yoga Nidra on heart rate variability?HRV?after moderate intensity aerobic exercise,aiming to provide experimental evidences for future research on Yoga Nidra's recovery of autonomic nerve after exercise fatigue.Method:In this study,13 male college students?23±2.8y;51.63±1.99ml/?kg·min??and 13 female college students?22.8±2.2y;43.9±1.5ml/?kg·min??was chosen according to the results of maximal oxygen uptake experiment,and the values of their relative oxygen uptake all in the excellent range.All subjects were randomly assigned to one of two tests:one was a Yoga Nidra recovery after exercise to fatigue,the other was natural recovery after exercise to fatigue.And the two tests were at least 1 week apart.The exercise fatigue program was moderate intensity?75%VO2max?sustained45min aerobic treadmill exercise.10min normal R-R interval signals were continuously recorded through Polar RS800 at pre-exercise?Rec-1?,post-exercise?Rec-2?,post-recovery?Rec-3?.Then,by using Kubios HRV Standard software,5min signal samples were selected for HRV time domain analysis and frequency domain analysis.Results:1)Compared with natural recovery,the mean R-R interval and HF?n.u.?index were significantly increased?male:P<0.01;female:P<0.05?,the LF?n.u.?and LF/HF index were significantly reduced?male:P<0.01;female:P<0.05?,no statistically significant difference in other indicators after Yoga Ndira recovery.2)Compared with pre-exercise?Rec-1?,the frequency domain indexes LF?n.u.?,HF?n.u.?and LF/HF all returned to the level before exercise after Yoga Nidra recovery?Rec-3?.3)HRV after Yoga Nidra recovery was compared between different genders.Results showed that PNN50?%?and HF?n.u.?were significantly higher in female subjects than in male subject?P<0.05?,while LF?n.u.?was significantly lower in female subjects than in male subjects?P<0.05?.And,there was no statistically significant difference in other indicators.Conclusion:1)Yoga Nidra can effectively improve the activity of the parasympathetic nerve after exercise and reduce the activity of the sympathetic nerve and help the recovery of the autonomic nerve.2)Compared with the time-domain index of HRV,frequency domain index is more sensitive in reflecting the influence of Yoga Nidra on autonomic nerve.3)There are gender differences in the effect of Yoga Nidra on heart rate variability.Specifically,the parasympathetic nerve activity of men is lower than that of women,while the sympathetic nerve activity is higher than that of women.
