A Study On The Relationship Between Parenting Style And Self-protection Awareness Of Personal Safety Of High School Students

It is an important task for school education and management to cultivate students' self-protection awareness,enhance their ability to cope with dangers,and ensure their personal safety.Concerning high school students,although they have already developed a sense of self-protection,the problems of traffic accidents,food safety,and personal injury and so on would happen to them from time to time,and in such circumstance safety is bound to the topic which is attached great importance to in the current society.According to the existing literatures both at home and abroad,this study tries to explore the current situation of and the relationship between high school students' self-protection awareness of personal safety and their parents' parenting style by adopting the self-compiled Questionnaire on High School Students' Self-protection Awareness of Personal Safety.To be specific,the first research mainly focuses on compiling the Questionnaire on High School Students' Self-protection Awareness of Personal Safety through conducting half-structured interview,project analysis and factor analysis.In terms of the second study,985 high school students are randomly selected as subjects by employing s-EMBU-C questionnaire and self-compiled questionnaire.Moreover statistical analysis software SPSS22.0 and AMOS22.0 are also used to conduct data analysis through the methods of variation analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis.The result is as follows:1.The Questionnaire on high school students' self-protection awareness of personal safety is composed of 25 questions,including the three dimensions of safety awareness,risk avoidance,and emergency response.With good reliability and validity,the questionnaire is able to meet the standards for measurement.2.Generally speaking,the self-protection awareness of personal safety possessed by high school students is generally above the average level.The self-protection awareness of male students is significantly higher than that of female students;theself-protection consciousness of single-child children is significantly higher than that of non-only-child children;the self-protection consciousness of urban high school students is significantly higher than that of rural students;the general trend is that the higher the grade or the higher the family income,the stronger the students' self-protection awareness of personal safety.3.On the whole,the parenting style towards high school students is positive and the scores obtained by mothers in the dimensions emotional warmth and overprotection are higher than that of fathers.The parents of male students refused to be significantly higher than female students;The father's rejection,parental emotional warmth and excessive protection felt by urban students are higher than those of rural students;the emotional warmth score of parents of only children was significantly higher than that of non-only children;the higher the grade,the higher the annual income of the family,the students Parents' emotional warmth scores higher.4.It is also observed that the multiple factors of parenting style have significant correlation with self-protection awareness of personal safety.After controlling the demographic variables,parental parenting style can significantly predict self-protection awareness of personal safety.Finally,the author proposes some suggestions in educational on the basis of the research results:1.Family factor plays a significant role in the preventive measures to protect students' safety,and thus parents should educate their children about safety timely and effectively.2.Schools should cultivate the self-protection awareness of students in daily education and teaching.3.In the education of personal safety,schools and families should complement each other so as to improve students' ability to identify risks and respond to emergencies.
