In 2016,China changed the name of the textbook of "Ideology and Morality" in junior high school to "Ethics and Rule of Law".Compared with the old textbooks,the new textbooks pay more attention to openness and comprehensiveness,and break through innovations in the context of the framework and columns,especially The“Expanding Space” column at the end of each frame presents a certain regularity.In the name of “expansion”,it develops and expands the vision of the eye,combines knowledge learning with moral practice,and promotes students' realization of knowledge and unity.The innovation of the new textbook is also the highlight.The “Expanding Space” column is rich in content and diverse in form,and promotes the extension of teaching from classroom to extracurricular.The requirements can be completed in the classroom or in the after-school,effectively making traditional teaching activities develop into curriculum knowledge and more.The vast field of life,and the integration of education,science,practice and fun,become a valuable resource for students to broaden their horizons,enrich their cognition,activate their thinking and internalize their quality.However,in the actual teaching,some teachers of morality and rule of law still attach importance to the training of knowledge transfer and answering techniques.The use of this column in teaching is minimal,so that the “expanding space” column cannot fully display its characteristics and play its role.Nor can it improve the overall quality of students.In order to further highlight the value of the "Expanding Space" column,promote the development of students' core literacy and the overall realization of the curriculum objectives,a total of 81 "expanding space" columns in the four textbooks of the seventh grade of the "Ethics and Rule of Law" in junior high school were carried out.Study,analyze its type,characteristics,necessity and importance of setting,and propose the principles and specific application methods of using this column in teaching.In the process of research,combined with a large number of ethical and rule of law teaching examples for analysis,it is more practical,in order to provide reference for the teaching work of frontline teachers.The following is a brief introduction to the main part of this paper from three parts:The first part is an overview of the relevant content of the “Expanding Space”section of the textbook “Ethics and Rule of Law”.First of all,a brief description of the "expansion space" column in the textbook is made to clarify its important position in the textbook.Secondly,the types of "expanding space" columns are divided into:reflection type,understanding type,verification type,and practice type.Finally,from the overall analysis of the characteristics of the "expanding space" column,the column concept is novel,the subject is clear,the content is rich,and the form is diverse.The second part is to analyze the necessity and importance of the "expanding space" column in the textbook "Moral and Rule of Law".The necessity is mainly demonstrated from four aspects: the inevitable requirement of implementing the curriculum standards,the effective means of cultivating core literacy,the inherent requirements of expanding the curriculum content,and the practical needs of improving the effectiveness of teaching.The importance is mainly discussed from four aspects: understanding of the knowledge of teaching materials,improvement of practical ability,cultivation of moral sentiment and innovation of homework design.The third part is about the application of the "expanding space" column in the textbook "Moral and Rule of Law".This part combines the principles and methods of the different types of the “Expanding Space” column in the first part to provide reference for the teaching of morality and rule of law.The application principle is to provide suggestions as a whole,including three principles: the principle of subsidiarity,the principle of flexibility,and the principle of innovation.The application method is mainly for different types of columns,from the two steps of application steps and case analysis,first analyze its specific operation and then enumerate the typical cases in the four textbooks for display analysis,the steps of each type of "expanding space" column There is no independent existence,and the steps of different types of columns can be learned from each other.Therefore,in order to further mobilize students to actively participate in teachingactivities,guide students to actively explore,improve the regenerative ability and practical ability of students' knowledge,and continuously internalize students' moral cognition into ethical behaviors,it is necessary to fully carry out the medium of“expanding space”.Teaching practice to enhance students' core literacy.
