Scale Of Higher Education In Henan Province:Evolution,Problems And Suggestions

This year marks the 41 st anniversary of reform and opening-up.Since 1978,when the Party made this important decision,our country has improved its international influence and great achievements continuously on the world stage.With the promotion of economic strength,people are more aware that in the era of knowledge economy,the promotion of international competitiveness and comprehensive national strength are closely related to education,in which higher education plays an important role in all aspects of society.In 2014,General Secretary Xi Jinping also stressed in Beijing normal University: "the competition for comprehensive national strength in today's world is the talent.Talent is more and more becoming a strategic resource for promoting economic and social development.The foundational,leading,overall position and role of education are more prominent." Henan Province is aware that human resource is an important potential strength and advantage.In order to implement the strategy of the rise of Central Plains and the strong province of talents,Henan has been committed to the transformation from a large province of higher education to a strong province of higher education,so as to enhance comprehensive strength and innovative ability of colleges.The scale of higher education is a common problem in the development of higher education,which has the basic and strategic characteristics.Therefore,this paper discusses that analyzes the present situation of Henan higher education scale,explores the effective path of Henan higher education construction,and locates what higher education scale is suitable for the current economic and social development of Henan.This paper is mainly based on the scale of Henan higher education data to make a research from the vertical and horizontal dimensions.The development and characteristics of Henan higher education scale in recent years are explored and are compared with seven surrounding provinces as well.To optimize the reasonable scale construction of Henan higher education,this paper identifies and diagnoses the existing problems and causes of the current scale construction,and try to find a reasonable path for the scale construction.Based on the analysis of opportunities and challenges faced by Henan higher education,we can see that the current is a great opportunity for the development of higher education in Henan.Higher education should follow the policy of the party central committee,take advantage of the implementation of the national major strategy,overcome the financial imbalance,weak foundation and other problems in order to improve the scale of higher education and make it a stronger education province.In view of the current situation of Henan higher education scale construction,this paper discusses the reasonable construction ways from the following four aspects,universities,students,teaching staff and infrastructure construction,and puts forward corresponding suggestions and countermeasures.First,expand the scale of higher education institutions in Henan,further increase the number of undergraduate colleges and universities,and accelerate the construction of a number of high-level universities;Second,enlarge the enrollment of graduate students and encourage overseas students to study in Henan.Third,improve teachers development,increase the number of teachers with senior professional titles and raise their salaries.Fourth,increase the income of colleges and universities,raise the tuition standard and encourage donations from the general public and broaden channels for funding education.
