| Thailand and China always have good relationship in various aspects.With the rapid development of China’s economy and the promotion of Chinese comprehensive national strength,the population of learning Chinese is obviously showing a trend of low age in Thailand.With the improvement of Thailand’s own economy,increasingly qualified schools have set up Chinese courses,especially the number of kindergartens.However,most preschool children only have listening and speaking classes in kindergartens,naturally with no primitive accumulation of Chinese characters.The critical period of preschool children and their cognitive characteristics indicate that there is a certain positive significance in Chinese literacy teaching at this stage.Through ten-month Chinese volunteer experience in Thailand,we conducted a field survey on the Chinese literacy teaching in two different types of schools in Ubon Ratchathani,northeastern Thailand---Anuban Ubon School(public school)and Ubon AVE Maria Church School.On the basis of the previous researches,based on the real classroom observation and record in the practical experience of kindergarten literacy teaching,and questionnaires and interviews with Chinese teachers,kindergarten home class teachers and parents of kids,analyzes the literacy situation for preschool children in two schools.Provide solutions to the problems existing in current literacy teaching.This paper mainly includes three parts.The first part introduces the reasons for the topic selection,the research status of overseas preschool children’s literacy teaching,and four research methods used---the questionnaire survey method,the comparative analysis method,the interview method and the observation method.And analyzes the current Chinese teaching policy in Thailand.The second part focuses on the investigation and study of preschool children’s literacy teaching in the two schools of Anuban Ubon Ratchathani School and AVE Maria Church School.They are divided into three categories: kindergarten Chinese teachers,class teachers andparents of preschool children.And there are three different ways to research: questionnaires,interviews and actual classroom records.After that,the results of the three surveys were analyzed to find out the problems that literacy teaching is difficult to carry out in kindergartens.The main focus is on several aspects: teachers not paying attention to literacy teaching.Parents have low demand for literacy teaching.The textbook writing is not targeted.The learning environment is not conducive to literacy teaching.The students’ own learning motivation is insufficient.In the third part,the corresponding solutions are proposed from the aspects of“teaching” and “learning”: the teaching aspect mainly needs to improve and train Chinese teachers,improve Chinese literacy materials for preschool children,and strengthen the communication between schools and parents.In terms of learning,it is necessary to increase the interest of the classroom,select the common reading characters for preschool children,and use the Chinese teaching methods flexibly.Finally,specific teaching methods are proposed to help preschool children increase their literacy interests,such as game methods and multimedia teaching methods.We hope that we can help the literacy teaching of kindergartens in Ubon Ratchathani,Thailand,and do our best to further promote and improve Chinese teaching. |
