Research On Fujian Education Funds During The Republic Of China

As the material basis of education,education funding is the prerequisite for smooth progress of educational and teaching activities,as well as the guarantee for smooth development of schools.As an important province in the southeast coast of China,studying the development and changes of its education funding system can enrich the education history of China’s coastal areas and broaden the research of modern education history.This article,with Fujian’s education funding source and distribution in the period of the Republic of China as the research object,the historical development order as the main line,the economic condition and changes of financial system in Fujian during the Republic of China period as the clue,and Fujian’s school education development as the background,fully studies the history of Fujian’s education funding changes in this period The study divided the period from 1912 to 1949 into three historical periods.With historical research method,comparative analysis method and graph analysis method,this article analyzed the features of school education development and educational funding system in different periods by comparing school development and funding changes horizontally,and the sources and distributions of funds in different periods vertically.Summarized:During the period of the Republic of China,relative to the demand for the development of school education,the Fujian education funding system had problems such as insufficient investment,unreasonable distribution,and inadequate management system.On the basis of the analysis of historical materials,several conclusions and reflections were made:First,no matter what period,education funds are the basis and guarantee of education development;Second,the amount of education funds is constrained by economic development,but not fully synchronized with economic development.Broadening channels can expand the sources of funding for education.Thirdly,the improvement and implementation of the system is the key to improving the investment and effectiveness of education.It is necessary to establish a scientific system for the distribution and management of education funds in order to give full play to the role of funds in promoting the healthy development of education.
