Objective: to analyze and compare the changes in the elderly's balance ability, muscle strength, flexibility, postural control, changes in walking ability under dual tasks of cognition and gait,as well as the changes in the fear of falling after the 12-week 24-style Taijiquan exercise, and to demonstrate the influence of 24-style Taijiquan on the prevention and reduction of the risk of falling in the elderly. Methods: 32 eligible elderly people were randomly divided into control group and experimental group.A total of 16 people in the experimental group underwent 24-style Taijiquan training for 12 weeks, with 3 times of training per week for 1 hour each time.Control group of 16 people,do not participate in regular physical exercise, maintain a normal physical activity. The test indicators were selected including one-legged standing with closed eyes,5 times sitting up test, sitting body forward bending test, standing up and walking test,dual-task walking test and fall performance scale. The elderly in the experimental group and the control group were tested before and after the experiment, and the data results were analyzed.Results:(1)in terms of physical activity, the results of standing on one leg showed that the difference between the experimental group and the control group was significant(P < 0.01)after 24-style Taijiquan intervention, and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).The results of sitting up test for 5 times showed that the difference between the experimental group and the control group was very significant(P < 0.01)after 24-style Taijiquan intervention, and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.01).The standing-walking test results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group(P < 0.05)after 24-style Taijiquan intervention, while there was no significant difference between the control group(P > 0.05).After the experiment, there was a significant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05).The results of sitting posture forward flexion test showed that there was no significant difference between the experimental group and the control group after the experimental intervention(P > 0.05).The double-task walking test results showed that there was a significant difference between the experimental group(P < 0.05)and the control group(P > 0.05)after 24-style Taijiquan intervention, and there was a significant difference between the two groups after the experiment(P < 0.05).(2)the score results of the fall efficiency scale showed that there were significant differences in indoor activity scores and outdoor activity scores of the experimental group after the experiment(P < 0.05),while there were no significant differences in the control group(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)24-style Taijiquan exercise can improve the elderly's balance ability, muscle strength of lower limbs, posture control ability and dual-task walking ability;(2)24-style Taijiquan exercise can reduce the fear of falling in the elderly.(3)24-style Taijiquan exercise can effectively prevent falls in the elderly.
