STEM education--short for science,technology,mathematics,and engineering--is a multidisciplinary,interdisciplinary,integrated education.Chemistry is a subject with strong application.As an important part of chemistry,chemical experiment bears the task of cultivating students' ability of scientific inquiry and practical application.However,under the exam-oriented education background,most middle schools tend to deal with the teaching of chemical experiment and simply explain the content related to the test involved in the experiment,which makes the teaching of chemical experiment fail to give full play to its role in training practical and applied talents.STEM education is conducive to cultivating application-oriented talents with comprehensive development in the new era and promoting the development of quality education in China.Therefore,it is necessary to integrate STEM concepts into high school chemistry experiment teaching.Through sorting out the development and current situation of STEM education at home and abroad,it is found that STEM education in foreign countries has a large amount of financial support from the government and legislative guarantee,and has been widely used in teaching,which is a very mature teaching mode.However,domestic STEM education is still in the theoretical research stage,most of which are the interpretation of foreign STEM education,and the practical research on STEM education needs to be widely carried out.In order to understand the application of STEM in chemistry experiment teaching.This paper investigates the teaching status of high school chemistry experiment fusion STEM concept.Teachers from different regions of henan province were selected as interviewees,and the interview was conducted from four dimensions: teachers' understanding of STEM,teaching mode of chemical experiment,understanding of STEM factors in chemical experiment,and opinions and opinions on integrating STEM into chemical experiment teaching.The interview found that the current situation of the integration of STEM into chemical experiment teaching was not optimistic.In-depth analysis was conducted on the reasons why teachers did not pay attention to teaching research,exam-oriented education was under great pressure,teaching facilities were not perfect,and schools did not pay attention to experimental teaching.According to the reasons,specific countermeasures are proposed as follows: improve teachers' education and teaching quality,organize regular teacher training,change teaching concepts,and set up special funds to subscribe to journals,strengthen the awareness of education research;The government should accelerate the education reform,include chemical experiment into the evaluation scope of college entrance examination,promote the transformation of evaluation mode,increase the investment of education funds and allocate resources equally.Schools should attach importance to experimental teaching and provide a platform for the application of STEM concept in chemical experimental teaching by providing experimenter and experimental equipment.By the domestic current situation of the literature review and investigation can be seen that the STEM education research is in the phase of theoretical research,the article based on the theory,attempts to STEM concepts of high school chemistry experiment teaching to carry on the design research,the concrete analyses,1 o 'clock a compulsory,compulsory 2 materials in the experiment,the experiment is divided into material preparation,synthesis experiment,experiment material properties,material inspection identification experiments,physical separation and purification experiment and exploratory experiment six categories,and the STEM of each type of experimental factors were analyzed,and the nature of science include material,reaction principle,improve the experiment design,etc.;The technology includes experimental design method,experimental operation and matters needing attention,etc.Due to the limited classroom teaching time,students have not been exposed to engineering application knowledge,so the engineering factors are to introduce their industrial production technology and instill engineering ideas on the basis of students' full discussion and exchange of engineering design.It provides a basis for integrating chemical experiment teaching into STEM concept teaching.The respect is designed in the experiment teaching,the current situation of education of our country,the experiment,students' cognitive development characteristics and constructivism theory and interdisciplinary integration mode of education abroad such as 5 e education model,PBL education model and PIRPOSAL model characteristics,design conforms to the concept of STEM chemical experiment teaching model,namely,introduction,exploration,explanation,extension,six link exchange,evaluation,build a teaching model for reference on the process of the 5 e teaching modes,but PIRPOSAL model for reference on teaching methods of inquiry teaching and project type model of project teaching idea.Then on the basis of this model according to the experimental class were selected "aluminum hydroxide preparation",the sodium silicate refractory properties test and inspection sugar,protein,extraction and liquid "and" explore trivalent iron ions and bivalent iron ion condition of "the five experiment case design,including the introduction,to explore and explain the three stages of the textbook experiment by exploratory teaching,to improve the experiment is not perfect place,complete curriculum.The project teaching concept was introduced in the extension stage.On the basis of students' full discussion and exchange of engineering design,the industrial production process was introduced,which not only consolidated the knowledge in time,but also enabled students to grasp the overall situation,think about problems from multiple perspectives,and comprehensively apply the knowledge learned to embody the integration concept of STEM subjects.In the communication link,problems introduced in class can be discussed and explained by students,and more applied knowledge can be introduced to broaden students' horizon.The evaluation link consists of two parts: teacher evaluation and student evaluation.It is expected to provide reference for front-line teachers to conduct STEM teaching research.
