Volleyball,as a collective sport,can establish harmonious and friendly relations between people,cultivate good psychological quality of players and improve team cooperation ability.Coaches,as team leaders,can promote competitive sports and team development,and their different leadership behaviors have different effects on team cohesion.In order to verify the mediating role of interpersonal relationship between coaches' leadership behavior and team cohesion,this paper explores the complex relationship among the three.This research mainly uses the methods of documentation,interview,questionnaire survey and mathematical statistics,adopts three maturity scales: Coach Leadership Style Scale,Team Interpersonal Relations Scale and Team Cohesion Questionnaire,and takes the relationship among coach leadership behavior,team interpersonal relationship and cohesion as the research object,and participates in the 13 th Henan Provincial Games.A questionnaire survey was conducted among 459 volleyball players in the University Sports Association Volleyball Competition.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Both groups of coaches tend to be democratic in leadership behavior;through the comparison of leadership behavior between group A and group B,it is found that the score of Democratic leadership behavior in group A is higher than that in group B,that is,group A coaches adopt more democratic leadership behavior than group B coaches,and group B coaches adopt more authoritarian leadership behavior than group A coaches,that is,group B coaches adopt more democratic leadership behavior than group A coaches.There are more authoritarian leadership behaviors.(2)There is no significant difference in interpersonal relationship between teams of different genders.There is significant difference in interpersonal relationship between athletes of different groups.Group A is superior to Group B in emotional communication,value exchange and team consciousness.(3)There is no significant difference in team cohesion between male and female athletes,but there is a significant difference in the dimension of group social attraction.The group social attraction of female athletes is stronger than that of male athletes.There is no significant difference in team cohesion among different groups,but there is a significant difference in group social coherence.Group A is higher than group B in group social coherence.(4)Democratic leadership has a significant positive predictive effect on team cohesion,while authoritarian leadership has a significant negative predictive effect on team cohesion.Coaches' Democratic leadership behavior has a positive predictive effect on interpersonal relationships within the team,while authoritarian leadership behavior may have a negative effect on interpersonal relationships within the team.Interpersonal relationships within a team have a positive predictive effect on team cohesion.(5)There is a significant positive correlation between Democratic leadership behavior and interpersonal relationships and team cohesion.Autocratic leadership behavior is negatively correlated with interpersonal relationships and team cohesion.Democratic leadership behavior and interpersonal relationship within the team have a significant overall effect on the regression equation of team cohesion,and interpersonal relationship within the team has a significant predictive effect on team cohesion.Autocratic leadership behavior and interpersonal relationships within the team have significant predictive effects on team cohesion.(6)Coaches' leadership behavior and interpersonal relationship within the team can directly affect team cohesion,and coaches' leadership behavior can also indirectly affect team cohesion through interpersonal relationship within the team.Therefore,interpersonal relationship within the team plays a mediating role between coach leadership behavior and team cohesion.Suggestions:(1)Faced with the differences in interpersonal relationships and team cohesion between different genders and groups,volleyball coaches should be flexible in coping with the differences and formulate scientific and reasonable training methods and competition strategies according to different team characteristics.(2)To improve team cohesion,volleyball coaches need to grasp the complex and changeable interpersonal relationship within the team,pay attention to the psychological changes of athletes,and pay attention to creating a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere within the team,which can properly increase the outgoing activities of team dinner and increase the harmonious relations among team members.(3)As far as possible,let the players participate in the decision-making of team affairs,let them be honest,trust and support each other,strengthen the concept of collectivism,fully mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of team members,and then improve team cohesion.(4)Coaches usually increase communication with athletes,through game training,learning and life and other aspects of in-depth understanding,provide help and guidance,and enhance the feelings between players.
