As the transactional leadership theory has been gradually replaced by the transformational leadership theory.More and more scholars begin to introduce it into education,military,sports and other fields.Comparatively speaking,the research on transformational leadership in the field of sports in china starts relatively late.In the context of sports organizations,the coach leadership behaviors are crucial for team sports like football.As an important indicator to measure the success of a football team,team performance not only refers to the game results of the team,but also covers the satisfaction of team members and the future development of the team.In addition,team cohesion,as the most important factor in the team sports,represents the cooperation between the team members and their recognition of the team goals.Thus,this paper introduced team cohesion as a mediating varible,and conducted an in-depth study on the specific relationship between football coach’s transformational leadership and team performance.Through the empirical study on the football teams of Beijing BSU FC,Beijing Begcl Phenix FC and shaanxi chang ’an athletic football club,this paper draws the following conclusions :(1)transformational leadership of the football coach has a significant positive effect on team cohesion;(2)transformational leadership of the football coach has a positive effect on task performance and team satisfaction,but it is not directly related to team development ability;(3)team cohesion plays a mediating role in the relationship between transformational leadership of the coach and team performance,which plays a partial mediating role in task performance and team satisfaction,and a complete mediating role in team development ability.According to the above conclusions,this paper puts forward different Suggestions for football coaches,individual players and training units. |
