| In recent years,the negative event of the graduate supervisors occurred frequently.These negative events have aroused wide concern and discussion in the whole society after being reported by the media.The social image of the graduate supervisors has been overshadowed.How does the media shape the image of graduate supervisors? Is the media image recognized by the graduate students who have the closest social contact with them? This is the focus of this study.I take the "cnki important newspaper database" as the source.Firstly,I used content analysis method to analyze 328 news reports of the graduate supervisors in the past five years.Then I used semantic scale,from the personality traits,the external image and overall image of the above three aspects report paper summarizes the media image of the graduate supervisors.Finally,I conducted a cognitive survey on the image of the tutor to 350 graduate students in Jiangxi Province,so as to make a comparison with the media image.The research found that the topics of advice,introduction and hot events were the most,with positive reports accounting for nearly 70% and negative reports accounting for 11.3%.There are some problems in the report,such as imbalanced report and the absence of the tutor's discourse.The media image of the graduate supervisors is shown as sagacity,loyalty,sincerity,simplicity in appearance,and great power in postgraduate training,strong position in the relationship with postgraduates and outstanding academic performance.The media image of the graduate supervisors is positive and diversified.The survey on the image of the tutor shows that postgraduates have a more positive perception of the tutor's personality traits,the tutor's external image is mainly plain,and the overall impression is also relatively positive.The inconsistency between the two is mostly reflected in details.Therefore,no matter media reports or students' cognition,the social image of the graduate supervisors is generally positive. |
