With the vigorous promotion of the national double-first-class construction,China's colleges and universities have ushered in a new round of development opportunities for Discipline construction.As an important force of serving regional economic development and promoting social harmony and progress,provincial research universities have become a new development task in the new historical opportunity period.How to seize the policy grandeur of double-class construction,break the pattern of interest consolidation,narrow the overall gap with their research universities and catch up with them has become a new development taskAt present,in order to further implement the new requirements of discipline construction and institutional mechanism innovation,colleges and universities all over the country are actively exploring new internal governance modes to adapt to them,and gradually trying out an organizational form with interdisciplinary,resource integration and innovative talent training as its main purpose,namely the school-faculty system.The formation of the academic faculty system is conducive to promoting the complementarity and cross-integration of advantages among multi-disciplines in research universities,and at the same time,it is conducive to improving the organizational efficiency and resource integration utilization rate in the process of internal governance of universities,thus fundamentally guaranteeing the improvement of the comprehensive strength of research universities.At present,most of the Pilot Universities in our country are research universities with strong policy support and mature internal governance system.However,the provincial research universities are still in the early stage of construction and development due to many challenges and uncertainties in the process of building the system.In order to further enhance the comprehensive strength of provincial research universities and narrow the gap between provincial research universities and their subordinate institutions,it has important significance to explore the construction system of the Faculty System of provincial research universities for further promoting the construction of the Faculty System in a wide range.This thesis mainly uses system theory,contingency management theory and knowledge production mode theory as the basis of writing.It uses literature method,case analysis method and research method to analyze the current reform status of research universities and provincial research universities in China.The driving force for the reform of the provincial research university system mainly includes internal and external driving,the internal main source of discipline development needs,the improvement of the university internal governance system requirements,the promotion of high-level talent development,etc.The external mainly comes from the transformation of state functions and higher education services.Economic development needs,"double first-class" construction needs.In addition,combined with the empirical case analysis of the reform of the faculty system of Suzhou University,the school's dependence on the traditional system,the difficulty of management after the shift of management focus,and the decentralization of grassroots academic power are not in place.In view of the existing problems,this paper proposes to improve the reform of the facutly system from the aspects of continuous innovation of the internal governance mechanism of the university,strengthening the problem orientation,promoting the internal powers and responsibilities of the university,exerting subjective initiative,and promoting the reform of the faculty system due to the school system.
