At present,with the wide development of quality-oriented education,the deepening of education reform,art education has gradually been emphasized.Music education,as an important part of school education,has generally been the concern of the whole society.In recent years,along with the implementation of the music education curriculum standard and reform and experiment of a new round of music curriculum,music education has made remarkable achievements,which has laid a solid foundation for the development of basic music education.However,at the same time,music education is still very weak when seen in the whole primary education.In the music education management,teachers,equipment,teaching materials,teaching content,teaching quality,teaching evaluation and so on,there are many problems,which has seriously hindered the development of primary music education and has been too much far from new curriculum standard.This research mainly adopts the research methods like literature review,questionnaire,expert interview and mathematical statistics.The development of music education in primary school of Yantai as the research object,the status of primary school music education in Yantai has undergone a more comprehensive and in-depth investigation and study.The results show that primary school music education in Yantai is relatively lagging behind.without enough funds,music equipment configuration is not balanced,teaching hardware facilities are poor;the number of teachers has basically reached the requirements,but many of them have changed their profession.There are not enough professional teachers.Those teachers are lacking in the ability to update their professional knowledge.Besides,they have not mastered enough basic theoretical knowledge and music skills.There exist non-standard phenomena in their class preparation and teaching plan.The teaching content is boring with single format,old teaching methods and out-date teaching aids.The teaching materials are not able to reach the requirements of students' study.The music class set in all schools have been replaced by major course.Most students are interested in music,but the music activities they can take part in are less,so these students have not mastered music skills.The assessment standard in primary music education is not scientific.At the same time,theprimary school music education in Yantai is analyzed in SWOT.The strengths(primary school music education has attracted great attention of leaders at all levels;the comprehensive implementation of quality-oriented education has provided a platform for primary music education;the abundant economic strength in Yantai has provided guarantee for primary music education);weaknesses(traditional concepts need time to update;there exists lack of music atmosphere;music teachers remain to be strengthened);opportunities(new-round class reform has provided opportunities for updating educational concepts;the modern teaching methods have coincided with music teaching);threats(the extra-curricular activities are lacking in frequency and popularity;the music teaching has weak foundation;the appreciation abilities still need to be improved).Comprehensive analysis of the existing problems,to update the concept of education,the "Trinity","free creation","practice participation" and "collaborative innovation" and other new models of primary school music education have been put forward.At the same time,to find out suitable methods and measures for the implementation of primary school music education in Yantai,the practically changing of educational concepts,the strengthening of teaching faculty construction,the exploration of curriculum resources,the actively launching of extra-curricular music activities,the vigorously promoting folk music culture,the improvement of the music quality of primary students and the establishment of music education assessment standard all have been considered as effective ways to enhance the quality of primary music education and explore new mechanism of joint education generated by the all-round cooperation of the school,the family and the society so as to fully make use of all resources and advantages and comprehensively improve the quality of primary music education.
