The enhancement of the physical health of the nation bases on the development of physical education. The improvement of the integral teaching quality and fitness level of the physical education depends on the construction of a strong team of P.E. teachers, among whom female P.E. teachers are indispensable and have become the important force in improving the P.E. teaching quality. The employment status of the female P.E. teachers directly affects the whole P.E. teaching quality. Yantai is a city with developed education and is also the experimental area for the national quality education. The rate of admission to universities or colleges has topped the list in Shandong Province for years. The survey and study of the employment status of the female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai provides references for the formation of a perfect team of P.E. teachers and the improvement of post status of the female P.E. teachers as well.The thesis takes the P.E. teachers from different middle schools in the areas of Zhifu, Zhaoyuan, Qixia, Laiyang, Laizhou in Yantai as the research object, by the methods of literature study, questionnaire, expert interview and mathematical statistics. The result of the study indicates that the problems of the employment status of the female P.E. teachers in Yantai are mainly as followed:1?The number of the female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai is relatively inadequate. The gender ratio is seriously unbalanced. Most of the P.E. teachers are young and middle-aged. Among them, the junior teachers and the intermediate teachers are in the majority, while the senior teachers are rare.2?The female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai can master the traditional P. E. teaching flexibly. However, there also exists the phenomenon that their knowledge is limited and outdated for lack of the chance of continuing education.3?The female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai have good organizing and training ability but relatively poor research capacity. On the whole, they are satisfied with their family. Their work is influenced by fertility and childcare etc. but it is acceptable.4?Generally speaking, the female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai has a relatively low social status. Sex has a distinct impact on the employment. There is much discrimination in society. The literacy courses are emphasized while P.E. is neglected.5?Due to the leaders' indifference, it is more difficult for the female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai to pass the assessment of academic titles, compared to those who teach other subjects. The opportunities for further study are few. There is a growing phenomenon that other subjects occupy the P. E. classes.6?Many female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai have poor health influenced by the working conditions. Even some of them can not work until the retirement for medical reasons.The solutions to the survey and study of the employment status of the female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai are as followed:1?Strengthen the emphasis on the professional status and treatment of the female P.E. teachers in the middle schools in Yantai and give full play to the professional value of the female P.E. teachers.2?Eliminate the subject discrimination and arouse the enthusiasm of the P. E. teachers.3?Increase the opportunities of the further study for the P. E. teachers so as to improve the scientific research level.4?Improve the teaching environment and create good school culture.5?Intensify exercise to stay in shape and keep fit.6?Handle the contradictions between career development and family properly.
