An Empirical Study Of Higher Education Opportunities For Women In Guangxi

According to the analysis of educational statistics of Guangxi in recent years,female students of universities in Guangxi are more than male students,it indicates that the higher education opportunities for men and women have become equal in terms of quantity,but there are few related studies about whether the higher education opportunities for female university students of different social groups are equal or not.This study explores whether the higher education opportunities that female university students of different social groups in Guangxi have obtained are equal or not and analyses its differences,based on the survey of female university students in universities in Guangxi.And then discuss the internal and external factors of education that cause the differences and make some advices to promote the higher education opportunities for female university students of different social groups to equality.By analyzing data of the questionnaire,it indicates that:(?)the number of female postgraduate students are less than Yunnan's,although the equality of higher education opportunities for women in Guangxi have been greatly improved;(?)There are some differences of the higher education opportunities that the female university students of different social groups in Guangxi have achieved.as it follows:(1)the female students in Guangxi who come from Han nationality,urban areas,public high school have more opportunities to achieve the higher education of undergraduate and postgraduate level and enroll into the ordinary public undergraduate university;(2)With the improvement of the administrative level of household registration,family culture background,family income and family social class,the opportunity of achieving the higher education of undergraduate and postgraduate level and enrolling into the ordinary public undergraduate university for the female is increasing;(3)The distribution of undergraduate professional disciplines among female university students coming from urban and rural areas,different family culture backgrounds and family social class in Guangxi is different,but the distribution of undergraduate professional disciplines among other female university students of different social groups in Guangxi is relatively consistent;(4)The distribution of higher vocational professional categories among female university students of different social groups in Guangxi is consistent and most female students are mainly distributed to the financial business category,education and sports category,tourism category.The reason why the higher education opportunities for the female university students of different social groups in Guangxi are different is the result of the dynamic influence of economic,cultural and social dual structure and some internal reasons of higher education.It needs the government,relevant departments and universities to work together to make higher education opportunities equal among female university students of different social groups.
