On Modernity Of Chinese University

In recent years,the "modernity of Chinese universities" has become an important academic topic and has attracted more and more attention.In the field of higher education,this topic has manifested itself in multiple ways and has caused a series of rather heated academic debates.Modernity is a concept with philosophical reflection and critical attributes.The theoretical perspective of modernity is to consider and examine the modernization process from the perspective of philosophical reflection.University modernity includes the consciousness of university modernity,which is embodied in the basic concepts(such as the rational relationship between academic and political),value purport(such as the pursuit of truth,rationality,academic democracy and educational justice)and mode of thinking commonly held by modern universities,as well as the communication mechanism,university system and organizational behavior mode of people in the modern university system developed on the basis of the consciousness of modernity.On the basis of modernity consciousness,universities keep pace with the times and even lead the times to complete the construction of modernity and become an organization different from traditional educational institutions.Since the founding of New China,especially since the reform and opening up,the modernization of Chinese universities has made historic progress,and the discussion of university modernity has been carried out in different ways.The modernity of Chinese universities has gradually shown its own characteristics and connotation.This study uses the method of combining history and theory to analyze the deepening process of the modernization of Chinese universities,and then reveals this process and discusses the generation and predicament of the modernity of socialist universities with Chinese characteristics.Under the guidance of Marxism,the running practice of Chinese socialist universities has long jumped out of the modern university model based on modern western universities and is in a unique contemporary situation.The contemporary issue of socialist universities is an era issue under the background of contemporary China’s market economy,modernization and socialist reform,which is a unique situation.The modernization of China’s universities is still in an unfinished state,and there are still many contradictions and problems in the reform and development of modern universities.It is essential to break through the dilemma by adopting a critical and reflective attitude and enhancing the ability to think about the problems of China’s modern universities.
