"Math talk" is the expression form of the externalization of mathematical thinking activities.Through the process of students' "talking",the internal thinking experienced in the process of problem solving can be sorted out, processed and organized into external language,so as to gain understanding and promote the comprehension of new knowledge, which is an internalization process. This paper makes an experimental study on improving the problem-solving ability of the seventh-grade students through the activity of "math talk",and applies the activity of "math talk" to the problem-solving of the seventh-grade students.Through nearly two semesters of operation and implementation, the experiment has collected abundant teaching experience and achieves excellent experimental results. The first part of this paper is the introduction part, mainly discussing the research background, problems, research objects and methods. The second part is the literature review related to this study. The third part is related to the core concepts. The fourth part is the construction of the experiment, which introduces in detail the concrete flow of implementing "math talk" when guiding students to solve problems. The procedure guided by four stages of solving the problem incorporates five steps of reasoning training. The fifth part is the process and result of "math talk" experiment. It presents several teaching cases in the experimental process, collects the experimental data of the experimental class and the control class,as well as analyze and summarize the experimental results. The last part elaborates the insufficiency of the research, and proposes the future expectation of the further development of "math talk".
