Secondary vocational education is the stage of preparing students for the specific jobs.To begin occupational exploration and to know barriers of their career are of big influence for the secondary vocational school students.This study will try to understand the correlation between the family cohesion and perceived career barriers,and further discuss the relationship among self concept and these two.A total of 500 secondary school students from two schools in Dongying were selected to complete family intimate degree scale.Tennessee self-concept scale and the perceived career barriers inventory for Chinese undergraduates.425 valid questionnaires were collected.Using the SPSS 22.0 to analyze the data,and the results are as follows:1?The secondary vocational school students can perceive certain levels of career barriers.The biggest two of the per-occupation barriers perceived are the employment competition and the attitude from the family,and the biggest barrier perceived of working is the family.2?There is a significant major difference in the self-concept and a significant gender difference in the self-criticism.There are significant differences of family self between the single and non-single child students.3?The family cohesion of secondary vocational school students in different majors are significantly different,the nursins students have weaker family cohesion than students of other majors.4?Family cohesion and self-concept of secondary vocational school students are negatively correlated with perceived career barriers..5?Self-concept plays a complete mediating role between family cohesion and perceived career barriers.Family cohesion and self-concept of secondary vocational school students are negatively correlated with perceived career barriers.
