An Action Research On The Reconstruction Of Social Support Network For The Families Who Lost Their Only Child

The families who lost their only child are a "companion phenomenon" of one-child policy in China.The death of the only child in a family for various reasons has brought great trauma to the family.The traditional thought of "three kinds of no filial piety,no heir is the most serious" has brought about secondary and sustained damage to the spiritual level of the family lost their only child,resulting in the active or passive rupture of the social support network after the loss of the only child.Aiming at the problem of rebuilding the social support network of the lonely family,this paper takes the social work service project of the lonely family in T District of H city as the research platform,takes the theory of social support as the theoretical basis,and conducts the research with the action research method.This paper records the author's four-year experience of social work professional services for the families without independence,and expounds how to construct the social support network for the families who lost their only child from the two directions of official support resources,government and non-governmental organizations,and from the four directions of informal support resources,namely,consanguinity,marriage,geography and industry.According to the current situation of the social policy of the separated families in T District of H city and the actual needs of the separated families,this paper constructs the framework of the action strategy,puts forward the action strategy for the improvement of the separated families themselves in the process of social support network reconstruction,the exploration path of formal and informal support resources,the elements of the social support network of the separated families and the safeguard measures of the social support network.Using the paradigm of action research,this paper also elaborates the evaluation methods and contents of testing the results of action,and expounds the achievements ofthis action research and the direction of future action from the perceptual and rational level.Finally,this paper expects to provide feasible suggestions for the reconstruction of social support network for families who lost their only child by summarizing the experience and shortcomings in the action.
