With the advancement of the new curriculum reformation,the overall development and growth of students have become problem that cannot be ignored.Character teaching is an important part of history classroom in middle school.In the historical classroom,an appropriate choice and teaching method could not ouly help students to deepen their understanding of history subjects,clarifying historical context,but also help them developing humanistic quality and improving their personality.Based on the textbooks compiled by the ministry edition historical textbook in 2017,this paper analyzes all historical figures involved in the textbooks in terms of number,category,era,gender and other aspects,we can draw a conclusion that the textbooks of historical figures in the textbooks have important position.An use of historical figures in teaching is conducive to improving students' interest in learning,cultivating students'humanistic qualities,and improving students' personality.On this basis,the problems of the teaching of junior high school students are analyzed from the aspects of the choice of textbook characters,the influence of teachers'concept and the students' inherent cognition.And then the principles and specific implementation strategies that character teaching should follow will be the focus of this paper.According to this paper,teachers should follow the principles of authenticity,vividness and typicality.Prepare lessons carefully before class,adopt various methods to optimize teaching during class,and eonduct characters through inquiry activities after class.These could expand the learning and promote the development of character teaching.Finally,the teaching design of the third section will be based on "Sun Yat-sen of the democratic revolution" in the eighth edition of the textbook,the ideas mentioned above would be embodied in the teaching design for the aims of rethinking the principles and strategies for character teaching,which helps this paper to get more practicability.
