The Faults of Qin is a representative work of Jia Yi’s political essays and one of the most popular and famous articles under the influence of the ideological trend of "pointing out the faults of the Qin Dynasty".The Faults of Qin is divided into three parts.Since the first part of The Faulte of Qin was selected into modern Chinese textbooks in 1961,it has been selected into high school Chinese textbooks for many times,which has great teaching and learning value.The body of this paper consists of three chapters:The first chapter discusses the selection of ancient anthology and modern Chinese textbooks of The Faults of Qin,and briefly analyzes the teaching value of The Faults of Qin.As a political prose,The Faults of Qin is unique in its imposing manner,argumentation and structure.The thematic ideas and literary knowledge contained in it are also of great learning value.The second chapter analyzes the content of The Faults of Qin,mainly from the theme interpretation,artistic characteristics,text comparative analysis,annotation discussion of these aspects.First of all,there has always been a controversy over the understanding of the theme sentence "Because it failed to rule with humanity and righteousness and to realize that the power to attack and the power to retain what one has thereby won are not the same" in The Faults of Qin.The author explains it from Jia Yi’s political thought and grammar knowledge of classical Chinese.Secondly,the author compares the text of The Faults of Qin in different versions of Chinese textbooks with the text of The Faults of Qin in ancient anthology,and briefly analyzes the reasons for the text differences between different versions.In the end,the author compares the annotations of The Faults of Qin in the People’s education edition,the Guangdong education edition and the Shanghai education edition,explores the merits and demerits of the three kinds of annotations,and analyzes them.The third chapter analyzes the teaching designs and teaching cases of The Faults of Qin collected,and tries to solve the problems existing in the actual teaching of The Faults of Qin.In addition,the author carries out the teaching design of The Faults of Qin from a new perspective.At last,the author gives some suggestions for the deficiency of practical teaching.Based on the summary of the artistic features of The Faults of Qin and the summary and analysis of teaching cases and teaching designs,the author reflects on the current teaching situation of The Faults of Qin and gives some teaching suggestions,hoping to benefit the young teachers’ in-depth understanding of The Faults of Qin and provide help for the Chinese teaching of front line teachers.
