Picture books are the main reading materials for children,which can stimulate their interest in reading and contribute to the improvement of their language ability,logical thinking,artistic aesthetics and creativity,etc.STEAM education with an interdisciplinary nature is an important education method to cultivate innovative talents nowadays.Kindergarten education lays a foundation for cultivating talents needed by the society after 20 years.Integrating STEAM education concept into early childhood education is conducive to the development of children's own innovative quality and more conducive to the cultivation of future innovative talents in the country.Therefore,this paper attempts to integrate STEAM education concept into the design of children's picture books for relevant research.In this paper,through literature analysis,field survey method,case analysis,interview method,and based on the design method,from STEAM education concept,and analyze the problems about the design of children's picture books,through on-the-spot investigation and case analysis,according to the characteristics of the children themselves,puts forward the design principle of children's picture books on the basis of STEAM for suitability,interesting,situational,experiential,interdisciplinary,and on this basis was carried out based on STEAM education concept of children's picture books design-the magic sandbags,finally proposed based on STEAM education concept of children's picture books design strategy:(1)clarify the value of STEAM in early childhood education and incorporate its concept into picture book design;(2)put real problems and situations in life into children's picture book design;(3)enrich the theme types of picture books to meet children's cognitive expectations;(4)vivid and lively color matching ensures children's pleasure in reading;(5)pay attention to the proportion of picture and text in picture books to provide sufficient imagination space for children;This study mainly includes the following six parts:Part one:The first part is the introduction,which explains the research background,significance,research status at home and abroad,research content,research methods and technical routes,clarifies the research problems,and lays a foundation for the follow-up research.Part two:related concepts and theoretical research.The related concepts are "children","children's picture book","STEAM picture book" and "picture book design";The theoretical study mainly illustrates the role of piaget's cognitive development theory,children's physical and mental development law,and constructivism theory in this study.Part three:research the kindergarten picture books the selection and use of situation,in view of the selected picture books from the education value,the types of story theme,expression and so on are analyzed,and focuses on analyzing the current problems in the design of kindergarten picture books,and then to foreign three STEAM draw this case analysis from multiple angles,summarizes the STEAM based education concept of the five principles of children's picture books design.Part four:design of children's picture books based on STEAM education concept.Taking"magic sandbag" as an example,it elaborates on design ideas,compilation and production methods,design process,extended activity design and other aspects,and simply practices the picture books in the kindergarten,and makes practical effect analysis.Part five:based on the above design principles,design examples and practices,this part proposes the design strategy of children's picture books based on STEAM education concept.Part six:summary and prospect.This paper summarizes the research results of this study,and points out the shortcomings of this study and the future research direction.
