Rubber As Medium-A Study Of Social Iintegration Of Mengman Farm State Farm In Xishuangbanna,Yunnan,China

State-owned farms were established to accomplish special tasks in a specific historical context,and are a special unit organization formed during the period of planned economy in China.In the early days of the founding of PRC,state farm played an irreplaceable role in supporting national construction.There are many studies on state farms,most of which focus on state farm reform and management system innovation,but few reveal the social integration of state farm.From the perspective of social integration,this paper takes the Fifth Division of the Mengman State Farm as the research object,and analyzes the process of integrating of the Han-based farm in a local minority society from the three dimensions:system level,economic level and social relationship network.In the long-term interaction period,the relationship is changing and adapting.The purpose of the Mengman State Farm was planting rubber,building and developing the frontier.During the establishment of the farm,a large number of rubber immigrants entered the local society,breaking the local traditional pattern and resulting in a huge impact and change.Rubber closely links the farm to the local community and acts as a medium in the process of integrating state farms with localities,promoting the integration of farms and local societies.The integration of farms with local Han immigrants is mainly reflected in the following three aspects:the integration at the institutional level,which is mainly achieved by the change of the leadership management system of the farm.The changes in the leadership system of the farm are as follows:the head of the central competent agricultural bureau-the State Administration of Land Reclamation and the provincial dual leadership(mainly provincial)-led by the local people's government,which intuitively presents the relationship between the state farm and the local government.The integration at the economic leve,which is mainly reflected as'follows:First,through the support of funds and technology,the farm helps the local society to develop private rubber and promote local economic development.Second,through the sale of rubber,state farm workers and local villagers have established economic ties with each other,form a close economic interest,and have achieved integration at the economic level.The integration at the social network level,which is mainly embodied in the construction of the social network of state farm workers and local villager.Through marriage and making brothers and sisters friendship,they form a closed social network However,in the process of integration,there are also a lot of difficulties and conflacts needed to be solvedIt is 60 years since the establishment of the state farm,,and the relationship between state farms and local society has been changing and adjusting for more than half a century.The dividing line between them have become blurred,forming a harmonious society.
