Research On The Educational Function And Implementation Of The School Ceremonies

Ceremony is a very common social and cultural phenomenon in our daily life,with specific cultural connotation.School ceremonies are important part of school education.As an indispensable part of students' school life,school ceremonies play an important role in the construction of students' values,the formation of their cognition and the development of their personalities.Symbolism,motivation,periodicity and education are the main characteristics of school ceremonies.Educational function is the ontic function of school ceremonies.Based on the existing research,this study further excavates and refines the educational function of school ceremonies,which is mainly manifested as infiltrating value and constructing moral cognition,disciplining behavior and shaping good habits,gathering emotion and promoting collective identity,nourishing taste and improving aesthetic ability and so on.School ceremonies should have played very important role in students' campus life and the construction of school culture.However,through the investigation and case analysis,we find that there are some dilemmas in the realization of the educational function of school ceremonies in real educational practice.For example,students passively participate in,formally carrying out activities,lacking normalization,the contents are boring,lacking school-based characteristics and innovation,etc.Through in-depth analysis,this study finds that the main reasons for the difficulties faced by the educational function of school ceremonies are the insufficient understanding of the importance of school ceremonies,the too utilitarian value orientation of exam-oriented education,the absence of management of school ceremonies,the lack of evaluation system and the loss of identity and role of teachers.It is of great significance to clarify the difficulties and the reasons for the realization of the educational function of school ceremonies for putting forward measures to improve the current educational practice.Through comprehensive analysis,to realize the educational function of school ceremonies,first of all,we must attach importance to the subjective position of students in school ceremonies,guide students to actively participate in and mobilize students' emotional engagement.Secondly we should let teachers be the leading role in school ceremonies,improve teachers' cognition of school ceremonies,regulate teachers' behaviors in school ceremonies and clear their responsibility.Besides,we should also strengthen the propaganda,enrich educational connotation of school ceremonies;standardize training,innovate the education forms of school ceremonies;strengthen evaluation,perfect the evaluation system of school ceremonies and so on.
