The core family consisting of two generations of young parents born in the 1980s and 1990s and their children, most of whom sought the help of grandparents in the process of raising their minor children. There are many differences and even conflicts in the process of raising children. The purpose of this study is to explore the intergenerational differences in family education values,to deepen and expand parents'understanding of the value of their children's education, and to provide advice on the coordination of parents' educational behaviors and intergenerational differences in family education values. This study used a qualitative research method. The researchers used semi structured interviews and participatory observations to discover and understand the differences in educational values between the grandparents and parents in the three families and the different educations values reflected in their educational behaviors. The results of the study show that the grandparents of the three families are generally looking forward to a child with excellent academic performance, obedience, gregarious and healthy body. They believe that academics, obedience, gregariousness, and physical health are of the utmost importance to underage children,so they have a tendency to value these in the process of educating underage children.Unlike grandparents, parents of the three families are expecting their children to grow into a fully developed,self-directed,individualized,physically and mentally healthy person,so they have different value tendencies with grandparents in the process of educating their children. It is worth noting that although there are differences in the values of family education between grandparents and parents in the three families, this difference does not lead to confrontation and conflict between the grandparents and parents.According to Zhou Yi's generation gap theory, the intergenerational differences among the three families are in the first stage of the generation gap, that is,both the grandparents and parents show evasiveness, mutual respect and understanding, and intergenerational interaction in family education is basically good.At the end of the study, the research results were analyzed and discussed in depth. It is pointed out that the most fundamental reason why the grandparents and parents have different family education values is that they are different value subjects with different cultural backgrounds.Grandparents and parents have different cultural environments behind them, and they have the cultural imprint of different eras. The cultural differences between them are reflected in the family's differences in family education values.Based on the analysis and discussion of the research results, this study reflects on the coordination of intergenerational differences in family education values. The coordination of the intergenerational differences between the grandparents and parents depends on the transmission of the thoughts and feelings, that is,communication;in addition, the grandparents and parents should actively deal with the intergenerational differences and adopt methods such as separation to prevent the expansion and upgrading of differences.
