Textbooks are the main basis of the teachers’ teaching and students’ learning, high school history textbooks is particularly important in students ’learning, because it is the most direct understanding way of domestic and foreign developed condition to high school students who will not receive higher education, so it plays an important role of the students’ world outlook. The combing of Textbooks’ evolution make us grasp of today’s textbooks better, and also has a certain benefits to students’ learning. The clues of this article is how the PEP high school history textbooks describe the Soviet Union after the founding of PRC, above this reflects the backgrounds of high school history textbooks written.It includes the following aspects:First is the proposal of the the subject. Although there are a considerable amount of researches on this subject before, but few articles or books are about of one country in the history textbooks, especially like the Soviet Union which related with China deeply, this provided an opportunity of my study.in the next, divided into the following sections elaborate my subject:description of the October Revolution in the textbook、description of the socialist transformation and construction during the Stalin’s rule in the textbook、description of the important leaders overthrew by Stalin in the early history of the Soviet Communist Party in the textbook、 Description of the performance of the Soviet Union in World War Ⅱ in the textbook、 Description of Soviet Union after World War Ⅱ in the textbook.Then explain why our textbooks present the Soviet Union’s history like above as five parts:the influence of20th Congress of the Soviet Communist Party、the influence of Sino Soviet Split、the influence of the Great Cultural Revolution、he influence of the Third Plenary Session of the Eleventh Central Committee、the intertwined impacts of radical changes in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe with the theme changes of the times.On this basis, to explore the virtues and shortcomings of the textbooks from the textbook compile principles. I think history textbooks have strong features of the times, but lots of contents did not seek truth from facts and it’s unfavorable to cultivate students’ cultural literacy.In the last,I may propose some simple suggestions about textbooks compiling. I think the compiling of textbook must balance the times require and respecting the facts to provide services for students’physical and mental development.
