Study travel is a new educational mode which combines "tourism" and "learning".It emphasizes that students should actively participate in the theme of travel,study in the destination in an organized and purposeful way according to the plan set by the school,and experience life and nature through tourism.As a way of practical activities,research travel has been recognized by many countries and regions.In November 2016,the Ministry of Education jointly promulgated the "Opinions on Promoting Research Travel for Primary and Secondary School Students" with 11 departments.Research Travel began to gradually integrate into the national education system and was well known by the academic community.As a new educational mode,research travel plays an active role in cultivating pupils' social values,developing their minds and improving their comprehensive quality.Taking the students,teachers of grade 4 to 6 in Yueyang urban primary schools and some research and practical education bases as the research objects,this paper makes an analysis of the current situation of research and learning travel in urban primary schools by means of literature research,questionnaire survey and interviews.The research shows that the primary schools in Yueyang City have incorporated the research travel into their teaching plans,and the students' participation is also high,which is closely related to the importance attached by the education departments and schools to the research travel.However,there are also some problems,which are mainly manifested in the emphasis on traveling while neglecting learning,the ambiguity of curriculum objectives,the lack of awareness of subject participation,the arbitrary organization and implementation of planning,and the one-sided evaluation and single form.The main reasons for these problems lie in the fact that traditional educational concepts still dominate;the comprehensive nature of research travel makes it difficult for schools and bases to implement;and the lack of teachers who can organize research travel.In order to further promote the healthy development of research travel in urban primary schools,schools,teachers and research bases should establish correct understanding from policy propaganda,improve the degree of curriculaization of research travel by strengthening teachers' research level,improve students' principal position,teachers' organizational management level and parents' participation,and clarify the objectives of research curriculum.To develop the base resources reasonably by closely linking with local educational resources and increasing the input of teachers in the base;to improve the organizational implementation process by carefully planning,tightly organizing and strengthening the guarantee of mechanism;to improve the evaluation mechanism by diversification of evaluation subjects,diversification of evaluation methods and comprehensiveness of evaluation contents.
