All we know, the regional inequality is a serious threat to China's unity, stability and prosperity. Now,this paper choose the middle reach of Yangtze river which is separated into eight natural attributes of regional to research the change of intercounty population density pattern and its influencing factors.Firstly,we found that the nature power is strongly extremely stable. In the space-time dimension, the high-altitude mountain areas are sparsely populated, while the low-altitude plain areas are densely populated.Secondly, the article use the Simple linear regression model to explore the infulence of economic and nature factors on population density, and the reults demonstrate that economic have larger impact on population distribution than natural factors.Thirdly, according to the Geographical weighted regression model, the factors of the total amount of social consumer goods and the tertiary industry have a positive correlation with the population distribution in the western mountainous region, while the factors of the primary industry and the plain have an inverse correlation with the population distribution in this region. Also, the factors of the total amount of social consumer goods and the tertiary industry have a positive correlation with the population distribution in the plain.Additionally, the influence of plain factors on population distribution covers the entire middle reaches of the Yangtze river, but the influence of mountain factors on population distribution gradually weakens from the west to the east of the middle reaches of the Yangtze river.
