Based on the self-determination theory,the motivation of college students participating in physical exercise is explored with the help of behavior regulations in exercise questionnaire(BREQ-2),which divides the motivation into amotivation,external regulation,introjected regulation,identified regulation and intrinsic regulation.Investigation on the physical exercise behavior of college students is used by the questionnaire of sports behavior.The survey includes the frequency,duration and intensity of college students' spare time exercise,etc.The data analysis method,SPSS,is used to study the relationship between the motivation and exercise behavior of college students participating in physical exercise,and further analysis of the difference in the relationship between exercise motivation and behavior of male and female college students,the studies show that:(1)The motivation of college students' physical exercise has certain influence on the exercise behavior(frequency,duration,intensity),which is represented as: The motivation that has a negative significant influence on the frequency,duration,intensity of college students exercise behavior is amotivation;the motivations that have a positive significant influence on the frequency,duration of college students exercise behavior are identified regulation and intrinsic regulation;the motivations that have positive significant influence on the intensity of college students exercise behavior are introjected regulation and intrinsic regulation.(2)The influence of physical exercise on exercise behavior is different between college students of different genders,which is represented as: In the aspect of exercise frequency,the motivation that has a positive significant influence on male college students is identified regulation;the motivation that has a positive significant influence on female college students is intrinsic regulation;there is a difference between male and female college students.(3)In the aspect of exercise duration,the motivations that have a positive significant influence on male college students are identified regulation and intrinsic regulation,and identified regulation played a bigger role;the motivation that has a positive significantinfluence on female college students is intrinsic regulation;there is a difference between male and female college students.(4)In the aspect of exercise intensity,the motivations that have significant influence on male college students are amotivation and intrinsic regulation,the influence directions are negative and positive,respectively;the motivation that has a significant influence on female college students is only identified regulation,and the influence direction is positive;there is a difference between male and female college students.
