| Objective: In the context of "Healthy China",the problem of youth physical health in Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps("Corps"),which is located in the northwest of China, needs to be solved effectively, and its special location is a key area for the promotion of national health strategy. The promotion of youth physical health is an important part of China’s health strategy, and school sports is the main site of health intervention.Secondary vocational schools and general senior high schools together constitute the framework of high school education in China, and as the ratio of "general vocational" becomes more and more coordinated, the community is more and more concerned about the physical health of secondary school students.Domestic and foreign studies have found that High Intensity Interval Training(HIIT)has a positive effect on human health, and it is efficient,easy,time-consuming,and not limited by equipment, which can meet the physical fitness needs of different people. In order to improve the current physical health of secondary vocational students in the Corps and to find a kind of "compensatory" physical health intervention suitable for secondary vocational schools in the Corps, this study was conducted to investigate the effects of two different training modes,HIIT exercise intervention and regular running exercise intervention,on the physical health of secondary vocational students in the Corps. The purpose of this study is to find suitable training methods and training modes to promote the physical health of secondary school students in the Corps, and to effectively improve their physical health. Methods: This study used relevant literature as the theoretical supporting basis, and improved the experimental and implementation methods with feedback from interviews.80 secondary school students were randomly divided into HIIT and conventional groups, and the effects of 12 weeks of different modes of exercise intervention on physical fitness test scores were verified by experimental method, and the generated data of HIIT and conventional groups before and after the experiment were analyzed differently.By compiling the experimental data and comparing the changes of physical health test indexes between the HIIT group and the conventional group before and after the experiment, and comparing the differential changes of physical health test indexes and the degree of improvement of physical health between the HIIT group and the conventional group after 12 weeks,we analyzed the effect of the two exercise modes on the promotion of physical health level of secondary school students in the Corps, and explored the effectiveness of HIIT on the promotion of physical health level of secondary school students. The effectiveness of HIIT in promoting the fitness level of middle school students was investigated. Results: After 12 weeks of exercise intervention, the physical health indexes of both HIIT and conventional groups changed to different degrees.Overall, the HIIT intervention in the HIIT group was more comprehensive and efficient in promoting the physical health level of Corps secondary school students, and its effect was significantly better than that of conventional running exercises in the conventional group,as follows:(1)physical form: the effect of HIIT intervention on reducing the BMI of Corps secondary school students was very significant(P < 0.01),while conventional running exercises in the conventional group had no significant change on reducing the BMI of Corps secondary school students(P >0.05).The effect of HIIT intervention on the reduction of BMI of middle school students in the Corps was very significant(P < 0.01),while the regular running exercises in the conventional group did not have any significant change on the reduction of BMI of middle school students in the Corps(P > 0.05).HIIT intervention had a significant effect on the improvement of students’ body shape, which was better than the regular running exercises intervention.(2)Physical function: HIIT intervention significantly improved the lung capacity of Corps secondary school students(P < 0.01),while the conventional running exercise did not have a significant effect on the boys in the conventional group(P > 0.05)and had a significant effect on the girls in the conventional group(P < 0.05).both HIIT intervention and conventional running exercise could improve the lung capacity of Corps secondary school students, but HIIT intervention had a more significant effect than conventional running exercise. However, the effect of HIIT intervention was more significant.(3)Physical fitness: The HIIT intervention significantly improved the performance of 50-meter run, standing long jump,1000-meter run for boys and 800-meter run for girls, and one-minute sit-ups for girls(P < 0.01),and pull-ups for boys(P < 0.05),but did not significantly improve the performance of sit-ups for Corps secondary school students. The conventional running exercise intervention showed a very significant effect(P < 0.01)on the performance improvement of 1000 m run and 800 m run for secondary school boys, but did not produce significant improvement(P > 0.05)on the performance of 50 m run, standing long jump,pull-ups for boys,one-minute sit-ups for girls, and seated forward bends. In conclusion,HIIT exercise intervention can improve the physical quality of Corps secondary school students more comprehensively and efficiently compared with conventional running intervention, and promote the physical health level of Corps secondary school students.Conclusions:(1)HIIT can improve the overall physical fitness of Corps secondary school students.Firstly,HIIT has a positive effect in improving the physical form of Corps secondary school students.Secondly,HIIT can effectively improve the physical functions of Corps secondary school students. Finally,HIIT can efficiently and comprehensively improve the physical fitness of Corps secondary school students.(2)HIIT method is suitable as an intervention to promote students’ physical fitness in Corps secondary vocational schools.Compared with conventional interventions,HIIT is recognized and accepted by most students, and HIIT is suitable for daily physical activities in Corps secondary vocational schools.Recommends:(1)HIIT intervention programs need to be designed to be safe and reasonable.(2)HIIT can be used as an exercise method or exercise pattern for large classroom activities.(3)HIIT can be introduced as "compensatory" physical training in school sports activities in secondary vocational schools. |
