Modeling is a way to develop scientific thinking.Our country attaches great importance to the students’ ability of model and modeling.In the process of biology teaching reform,the teaching of modeling has achieved inevitable results.However,there are still some problems.Students do not have a comprehensive understanding of the model and modeling.The teaching of modeling is "fussy" and lack of evaluation of the teaching of modeling.This study uses the literature research method to summarize the domestic and foreign research progress,and uses the action research method to carry out modeling teaching in a biology classroom in an ordinary high school in a certain place in Zhejiang Province.The modeling teaching is divided into four themes: “Making a plasma membrane model”,“Making a chloroplast model”,“Making a nuclear model” and “Making a eukaryotic cell model”.Before and after teaching,scales1-the models and modeling comprehension scales are used for measurement.In the process of teaching implementation,scales2-the modeling ability evaluation scale is used for evaluation,and the understanding ability and modeling ability are analyzed.Each teaching ends,two students are followed to conduct semi-structured interviews.The obtained data is quantitatively analyzed by SPSS software,and the content of student interviews are qualitatively analyzed to study the influence of modeling teaching on students’ modeling ability and the difference.Research results:(1)In the analysis of pre-test data,at present,the understanding of model and modeling ability of high school students is mainly manifested in level one,level two and no level three;(2)With the increase of the teaching times of modeling,students’ modeling ability is increasing.Although the effect of the previous two teachings is not significant,the overall increase is significant;(3)In the post-test data analysis,the level of students’ comprehension is significantly higher than the original,and the more students show the level three(4)This explores that understanding ability and modeling ability are significantly related.Suggestions for teaching: Teachers should deepen their understanding of modeling teaching,not only use modeling teaching in open classes,but also use modeling teaching more in normal teaching,so that teachers and students actively develop new models.This study carried out biological modeling teaching in the classroom,studied the influence of this teaching on the modeling ability of high school students,played a good role in improving students’ modeling ability,and provided certain opinions on high school biology teaching.
