Study On The Temporal-spatial Evolution Of Urban Expansion From The Perspective Of Social Integration

Urban expansion is the only way in the process of urban development.Compared with Western countries,due to the different public policy framework and economic development direction,China’s urban development process has similarities,but also heterogenteities.And due to the influence of urban-rural dual structural barrier,peasants who migrate to cities and those who are engaged in cities by land expansion are engaged in non-agricultural production but are rejected by the old citizens.Because of economic,social and psychological factors,the process of citizenization cannot be successfully completed.Under the gleaming appearance of skyscrapers in the city,there may exists social contradiction that is still intensified by the old and new citizens.How to define the city scope and Where is the boundary of the city require us to rethink.This paper re-examines the definition of urban scope from the perspective of social integration,starting from the three dimensions of social integration,including social and economic integration,social structure integration,psychological and cultural integration,and then analyzes the order of development between these three and urban expansion,which indicates the possible relationship between the scope of urban land use with social integration constraints and the development of actual urban construction land.Afterwards,a conceptual model is built.Based on the standard celluar automata model,this paper combines urban development suitability,hard constraints and random factors to construct and urban expansion model with social integration factors.Taking Senyang City as an example,a validated empirical analysis is carried out using the constructed urban expansion model.The Logistic regression equation is used to calculate the probability of urban development suitability of Senyang City,which uses Shenyang digital elevation data,road river geographic data,population economic geographic data and social integration data as independent variables.The regration results show that the indicators such as slope,aspect,and water distribution are not significant,and the social integration data item is significant,which proves the direct correlation between social integration and urban expansion.Using the constructed urban expansion model,the simulation of urban land constrained by social integration factors in 2010,2015 and 2020 is completed.A preliminary forecast of the scale of urban construction land of 2020 is made.By using quanlitative indexes such as compact index,expansion intensity and expansion range,this paper compares the urban land with social integration constraint and the actual urban construction land in terms of form,speed and so on.It’s found that the law of size,speed,the different dispersion degree of the boundary region,as well as the subtle difference in the Euclidean distance and the specific direction of the spatial center transfer between the two.Through comparative analysis,the test result iinconsistent with the theoretical hypothesis: because Shenyang is still in the period of rapid urban development,the speed of external expansion of contruction land is still faster than that of urban land development restricted by social integration,which means that the area with low social integration is still expanding,and the time lag between the realization of social integration and urban construction become more and more obvious.The phenomenon of social segregation in fringe areas may become more and more intense.Finally,based on the above research conculsions,this study finds problems neglected at the social level in the process of urban expansion,then from the macro and micro perspectives,conuntermeasures and suggestions are proposed.
