Music education is an indispensable part of quality education.Good music education can not only improve students' aesthetic taste,expressiveness,creativity and artistic appreciation,but also help students achieve harmony and unity.However,the unfairness of education is still a serious social problem today.The gap between urban and rural music education is a microcosm of the phenomenon of educational inequality.As a first-line music teacher,the author has a deep understanding of the gap between urban and rural music education.How to promote education equity and narrow the gap between urban and rural education is a relatively important research topic.Through questionnaire survey,interview method and observation of school music teacher's class,the author compares the current situation of urban and rural junior high school music education with Baoshan No.6 Middle School and Shaba Middle School as an example,and compares the urban-rural differences in junior high school music education in Baoshan District,Yunnan Province.The summary and reason analysis are mainly analyzed from the four perspectives of the importance of music education,the teacher's investment in music education,the students' interest and views on music education,and the parents' awareness of music education..The author summarizes the reasons for the differences between urban and rural education as four aspects: economic development level,social music environment,talent education concept and teacher training opportunities.In response to the above comparative investigation and analysis,the author puts forward two suggestions: First,rationally allocate educational resources and promote equal educational opportunities.Second,we must change the concept of music education and carry out a teaching model tailored to local conditions.
