The advocacy of inquiry-based learning and students' dominant position was emphasized in the new round of high school biology curriculum reform,and more attention has been paid to students' core biological literacy.As an important part of biology,biological experiment is an important way to cultivate students' core quality of biology and to improve their experimental exploration ability.Meanwhile,it is also effective to cultivate students' interest and attitude in biology study and to improve their learning enthusiasm.However,at present,the high school biology experiment course has a tight task and only a few class hours,and most teachers directly use the traditional teaching method,which leads to the low teaching efficiency and fails to play its important role.In order to change the existing problems in the biological experiment course,to improve students' interest in biology and effectiveness of biological experiment teaching,and to cultivate their innovation and exploration ability.This study attempts to apply the new teaching mode,namely 5E instructional model,to the biological experiment teaching of senior high school.The research methods used in this study include literature review,interview,questionnaire survey,case study,data statistics and analysis.This study conducted an interview with the biology teachers of Mianyang experimental senior high school to understand the current teaching situation of biological experiment.In this study,133 students from class 13 and class 19 of grade one were randomly selected as research objects randomly.Their learning interest and attitude as well as creativity tendency were studied at first.Then the 5E instructional model was applied to design the experimental teaching of molecule and cell,a compulsory course for senior high school biology.After a semester of teaching practice,the students' study interest and attitude of the research objects and creativity tendency were studied again.SPSS Statistics 22.0 was used to analyze the collected data,and the following research results were obtained:(1)the pre-test and post-test data of students' learning interest and attitude towards biological experiments were significantly different under the independent sample T test(P=0.02 <0.05).(2)the pre-test and post-test data of the survey on students' creativity tendency showed no significant difference when P=0.722 > 0.05 under the independent sample T test,but the proportion of the students with strong and good creativity tendency showed a certain increase.The research results show that :(1)5E instructional model in the biological experiment teaching of senior high school can improve students' learning interest andchange their learning attitude.(2)5E instructional model has a positive influence on students' innovation ability and inquiry ability to some extent.(3)The overall effect of applying the 5E instructional model in the biological experiment teaching of senior high school is good.Students have a more accurate grasp of knowledge points,a higher learning enthusiasm,and better cultivation and improvement of students' various abilities.5E instructional model has achieved good results in biology experiment teaching and can be applied in the biology experiment teaching in senior high school.At the same time,this study puts forward some teaching suggestions for the application of 5E instructional model in biological experiment teaching,which has a positive impact on experimental teaching.
