The textbook has an irreplaceable importance in international Chinese teaching.It is the basis for teachers to organize teaching and students to learn Chinese.To some extent,the quality of teaching materials will affect the quality of teaching.Hanyu was designed for overseas Chinese students and it was written by the Beijing Huawen College that was entrusted by China Overseas Exchange.Therefore,the article takes Hanyu as the main research object,and JB School in Bali,Indonesia as an example.Through feedbacks from teachers and students,this paper summarizes and analyzes the problems encountered in the use of Hanyu in the high school,and finally puts forward various suggestions.The theoretical basis of this paper includes textbook evaluation theory,second language acquisition theory and foreign language teaching theory.The paper analyzes Hanyu from three aspects: the overall arrangement of the textbooks,the texts and the vocabulary.It is found that the structure of the set of textbooks is clear,and the overall framework starts from the sentence,to the text,the new words,and finally ends with other small sections.The sections are coordinated with each other.There are many different themes of the texts,and the daily life texts account for half of the total texts,but the proportion of narrative texts is particularly high,and its communication is open to question;the total vocabulary is moderate,but the control of the increase is unstable,the vocabulary level control is more reasonable,but the proportion of super-words is high.From the questionnaires and interviews,the teachers and students in the high school have higher satisfaction with Chinese characters,sentences and texts,and have low satisfaction with pronunciation,grammar,practice and culture.The textbook does not have the basic explanation of the the finals and tones;there is no explanation for vocabulary and grammar;the form of practice emphasizes writing,ignoring the two skills training of listening and speaking;the culture pays too much attention to Chinese traditional culture,basically no Chinese contemporary culture and no Indonesia culture at all.The first four volumes are low-difficult and un-interesting for high school students.The last four books have more vocabulary,longer texts,more practice questions,therefore the difficulty of learning is greatly increased.Based on the above research,the author puts forward some feasible suggestions from the three aspects of teaching materials,schools and users,and hopes to help improve the Chinese teaching and learning quality in JB School.
