The primary school stage is an important period for personality development and character development.Primary school students have a good mental health quality, and they play an important role in implementing quality education, implementing the fundamental task of "Lide the Tree",and cultivating socialist successors with Chinese characteristics in the new era. This study combines the current emerging drum music activities with the combination of empirical research and theoretical research, quantitative research and qualitative research, experimental research and action research to explore its impact on the development of primary school students' mental health. On the basis of theory, the multi-dimensional analysis of experimental data provides data support for the argument, enhances the persuasiveness of the research, and finally provides new ways and methods for the mental health development of students. This study can be divided into four parts. The first part: Introduction. It mainly expounds the origin of the research, analyzes the research status of the drum music activities and the mental health of the pupils at home and abroad, and discusses the significance of the topic selection. The second part: the theoretical basis.Poltzman said: "Theory is the root of thinking, that is,the essence of practice." Firstly,it analyzes the connotation of drum music activities, and then uses humanism and physiology as macroscopic perspectives, and elaborates music psychology andgroup dynamics as the core academic perspective, which provides theoretical support for this research. The third part: the establishment of the research program.Based on the literature research method, questionnaire survey method and empirical research method,80 students(40middle-grade students and 40 Senior-grade students)in Grade3-6 of Bocai Jinying Primary School in Changsha City were randomly divided into control group and experimental group,of which 40 were in control group and 40 were in experimental group. Before and after the experiment, all the subjects were measured with the Mental Health Assessment Scale for Primary School Students, and the experimental group made a detailed experimental plan and basic operation process of drum circle music activities. The fourth part: Research results. The quantitative and qualitative results of the study are analyzed and discussed in detail through two chapters. The statistically relevant software SPSS was used to process the evaluation results of the“Psychological Health Assessment Scale for Pupils” filled in by the two groups of subjects before and after the experiment. The data of the pre-test and post-test were compared between the groups and the horizontal and vertical within the group. The experimental results were quantitatively analyzed.Through the experimental group, the qualitative and summative evaluation of the drum music activity and the experience of the students or students in the interview experimental group after composing the drum music activity to qualitatively analyze the results. Finally, reflect on and reflect on this research. The results of the study showed that after 8 sessions of drum music activities with a duration of 30-45 minutes, theprimary school experimental group(20 middle-aged students,20 senior students)had mental health disorders, personality defects,The scores of social adaptation disorders and total scores were significantly different from those of the control group. This shows that the drum circle activity can alleviate the students' learning pressure, vent negative emotions, and enhance group cohesion and social adaptability.Combined with the qualitative analysis of the research, the drum music activity can also promote and cultivate the good moral character and behavior habits of the primary school students, thus improving the overall mental health of the primary school students. It is not statistically significant in terms of students' learning disabilities and special disabilities.
