| Language is the carrier of culture and integral part of culture.Both relationship is unseparable.To successfully master a language,we must learn the culture at the same time.And thus,to master Chinese language,firstly we must understand the culture behind the Chinese language.The absence in formal Chinese language teaching in Indonesia for 32 years has caused the nature of Chinese language education in Indonesia become complicated.After 1998,although the government has lifted the ban of Chinese language education,and also some schools have include chinese language in the school curriculum lesson,but so far there are still some problems in“what to teach”and“how to teach”.These two questions are related to the creation of teaching materials,and it is worthy of attention and exploration.Therefore,I have chosen two sets of Chinese textbooks with the highest usage rate since the lifting of the ban:“Han Yu” and “Xiao Xue Hua Wen”as the research materials,research the cultural content of these two sets of textbooks,from both aspects of knowledge culture and communicative culture explore how to enable students to master the Chinese culture in Chinese teaching.Firstly,the thesis begin by list out,analyzes and classifying the items that containing Chinese cultural in both“Han Yu” and “Xiao Xue Hua Wen”textbooks.Secondly,Indonesian learners who have used these two sets of Chinese textbooks will be researched,observed of their understanding in Chinese culture,so we can explore these two sets of textbook in culture writing characteristics,include their advantages and shortcomings.In addition,these students will also given questionnaire surveys to evaluate their understanding of Chinese culture and their interest in Chinese culture and needs for local culture.Based on the textbook analysis and questionnaire survey results,this thesis proposed several related suggestions for cultural contents:In sequential arrangement : Culture topics that commonly used,closest to daily life and interested should be adopted first.In content aspect : Language and culture needs to be combined,however cultural content should be flexible.When introducing a culture,it is necessary to pass the relevant content at the same time;Textbook should be written based on the principal of pertinence,interesting,representative,practicability and from the perspective of Indonesian learners,considering their different background and learning condition;Textbook should be integrated with local culture;Avoid the content that can lead to cultural conflicts;Comparative teaching are suggested for differences culture between both country;In terms of presentation,Illustration design should be bright and interesting,comics and photos are acceptable;The unit should be regular and simplistic,so students can learn easily;It is suggested to attach a relevant cultural content Compact Disc for students to watch. |
