The new generation of migrant workers has gradually become the main driving force of China's economic construction. The survey shows that the number of new generation migrant workers is huge, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of migrant workers.Like the old generation of working groups, the new generation of working groups contributed their own strength to the development of the city. However, compared with the older generation of migrant workers, due to the different living environment and background of the times, they are generally highly educated,open-minded and active, and have high expectations in the future.Regardless of the actual living conditions or the future development needs, they are willing to stay in the city. However,in the course of efforts to adapt to and integrate into urban communities, many needs of the group have not been responded to and satisfied because of the institutional barriers of dual urban-rural opposition, the differences in the social and cultural atmosphere, and the limitations of their own factors.Among them, the issues concerning the spiritual and cultural life of the new generation of migrant workers are prominent. The time is scarce, the content is poor, consumption is insufficient, and interaction is weak. The existing policies, activities, and facilities cannot meet their needs and deserve attention from all walks of life. This study, based on the professional perspective of social work, selected P village communities inhabited by new-generation migrant workers in Beijing to conduct practical explorations of the research sites.First of all, investigate and research the status quo of the spiritual and cultural life of the new generation of working groups in the community, and collect relevant data to analyze the problems and needs of the spiritual and cultural life of the new generation of working groups. Then,on the basis of this, combined with the existing service projects of the local social work service agencies, the service practices for the spiritual and cultural life of the new generation of working groups in P villages were carried out using professional methods of integrating social work. Finally, this article discusses the feasible path and key content of the social work method to intervene in this issue,in order to provide some thoughts for the diversified development of the spiritual and cultural life of the new generation of working groups.
