As an important part of the teachers and management team in colleges and universities,counselors are the main force of the ideological and political education of college students.They play a very important role in the healthy growth of college students.On October 1,2017,the Chinese Ministry of Education promulgated the Regulations on the Construction of Colleges Counselors,which further clarified that counselors are the backbone of ideological and political education for college students.They are the organizers,implementers,and mentors of college students' ideological and political education and management work in daily life.However,because college counselors,especially in private colleges and universities,have great pressure on their work,long work hours,no staffing of government affiliated institutions,low wage levels,and low social recognition.Meanwhile,counselors in private college and universities generally have weaknesses such as low academic qualifications and inability to adapt their business ability to the rapid development trend of private colleges and universities.As a result,counselors have been in a weak position in the human resources system of universities for a long time.They are prone to negative emotions and lead to“job burnout”,which brings huge negative impact in the growth and development of college students,the instability of the counselor team.They are not conductive to the development of the counselor team's professionalization and specialization.The educators are confronting serious difficulties in the ideological and political education work of college students.This paper explores the problems of counselor's job burnout in private colleges and universities from the perspective of the theory of person-organization fit selecting five large-scale and representative private universities in Shaan Xi.The writer uses questionnaires,interviews,comprehensive analysis methods,and literature research methods.The paper mainly analyses the causes of college counselor's job burnout and the hazards from the three aspects of the consistency fit between counselor and organization,demand-supply fit and request-ability fit.On the basis of this,the author constructs a theoretical model of overcoming job burnout,puts forward some measures to alleviate job burnout,and hopes to play a certain role in promoting and learning from it in the issues.
