With the advent of the "micro" era,Khan College,MOOC,flipped classroom and other new teaching forms impact on the traditional teaching mode, into the perspective of people. As the carrier of theirs content,micro-courses has such advantages as short time-consuming and convenience, clearness and so on,Those make up the disadvantages of traditional teaching. However, the development of micro-courses in the teaching field is not as smooth as expected.Compared with traditional teaching,micro-courses have higher requirements to stimulate students' learning motivation because of their limitations in time and space. In addition, the guidance theory and definition of micro-course is too indistinct. The overall quality of micro-course is not high, which leads to the unpopularity in practical teaching. The physics subject involved in this study is generally recognized as a difficult subject in middle schools, and students' motivation for learning is generally not strong. The design concept of ARCS motivation model meets the requirements of a new round of curriculum reform.ARCS motivation model provides theoretical support and practical guidance for the design of micro-courses,which can improve the existing problems in the design ofmicro-courses,and improve the quality of micro-courses and the level of students' motivation. The purpose of this paper is to design a micro-course based on ARCS motivation model and apply it to physics practice teaching to solve the problems of low motivation and poor effect in middle school physics teaching. In the process of implementation,in order to understand the students' learning motivation and the situation of micro-lessons in the school, the students of two parallel classes in the second year of junior high school in Erenhot were given a questionnaire of motivation, and the teachers were interviewed.Collect and analysis the data from the investigation and interview, then establish the experimental class and the control class. After that,a series of systematic, practical and operational micro-courses based on ARCS motivation model are designed by collecting and sorting out a large number of reference materials and combining with the teaching practice. The main contents include the following:Starting from the basic principles of teaching, combining the characteristics of micro-course and ARCS motivation model, the guiding principle of physics micro-course under this motivation model is established. In this paper,a large number of references are summarized, the views of the representatives in this field are collected, and the constituent elements and basic process of micro-course design under the model are determined. The model design mainly includes three aspects: the front-end analysis design, themain body design and the evaluation feedback design. The front-end design is to define the teaching goal before designing the main part of the micro-course,and the main design includes the design part and the making part of the micro-course;The evaluation feedback mechanism could test and feedback to the front-end design and the main body design, which mainly consists of two parts: micro-exercise and micro-reflection.The three parts of the micro-course are developed and designed under the ARCS motivation model, that is,the whole mechanism and connotation characteristics of the model are innovatively integrated in the design process.By combining the feasible motivation strategies and methods of various motivational levels with physics teaching,a set of guiding concepts and application templates that can be applied to middle school physics teaching are integrated. Then the micro-course based on ARCS motivational mode is applied to physics teaching in experimental class. Finally, the result is analyzed and compared between experimental class and control class, which proves the effectiveness of the experiment in improving students' learning motivation and academic achievement, and enriches the theory of micro-course design.
