The importance of community in social development is becoming increasingly obvious.The construction of a harmonious society needs to be linked with the development of community.The economic development and social progress make the function and influence of community gradually expand.The traditional community has been unable to meet the needs of residents,and improving the level of community governance is an important issue in the community development under the new situation,so it is necessary to constantly explore new ideas of community construction and community governance.Social work is one of the important ways to promote community governance.Social workers participate in the community with the help,service,development,innovation and other concepts,and can better assist the community in its construction.First social workers to use knowledge and combined with own experience,on the basis of needs,carrying out a variety of activities,to reduce the strangeness between residents,reduce the occurrence of conflicts and disputes,improve the quality of life of residents;Secondly,social workers actively promote the communication among various departments in the community,so that they can participate in various affairs and make Suggestions for the community,so as to achieve the goal of improving community governance.Taking Hohhot community as an example,this paper attempts to analyze the role and function of social workers in community governance through case study and in-depth interview.By collecting the required data through field survey and analyzing with reference to relevant theories of community governance and social roles,it is found that social workers play the roles of community service providers,activity organizers,community affairs negotiators and community development advisors in community governance,and at the same time,their functions are analyzed from the aspects of society,community and service objects.The paper also discusses the influencing factors and functional barriers of social workers' roles,and discusses them from the perspectives of the government,neighborhood committees,community residents and social workers themselves.Due to the limited setting of social work posts,the insufficient social recognition and the weak professional ability of social workers,there is a certain gap between the actual effect of social workers and the expected effect.In view of the functional barriers encountered by social workers in community governance,it needs to be carried out from the government,community and individual.The government should give support on the policy of social work,improve the community organization structure;Develop and establish social work posts;The community should introduce and cultivate social organizations,strengthen the publicity of social work,and support the practical activities of social work.Individual social workers should keep learning to enrich their professional knowledge and practical experience,so as to equip themselves with the ability to carry out professional activities.
