Creative thinking is a psychological process in which an individual uses novel ways to solve problems on the basis of reorganizing the existing knowledge and experience,thus producing valuable products or viewpoints.It is a mental activity based on the ability of perception,thinking and association,characterized by fluency,flexibility,originality and elaboration.A large number of studies show that 4-5 years old is the key age for the development of children's creative thinking.If we focus on protecting and cultivating children's creative thinking at this stage,it is bound to lay a good foundation for the development of creativity.Picture books are books that are mainly paintings and with a small number of characters.It tells stories to children in the form of pictures and text.It can help children to construct the spirit world and cultivate the multi-intelligence.Creative reading refers to the process of choosing creative reading materials and using a variety of ways(such as adaptation,creation,painting,production,role playing,etc.)to create meaningful reading activities.In order to achieve the goal of cultivating children's creative thinking through picture book reading,this study selected a picture book suitable for children's age and creative reading,and designed and implemented the intervention program of picture book creative reading.This study mainly uses the methods of educational experiment,observation,case study and literature analysis.The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of creative reading of picture books on the development of creative thinking of children aged 4-5 years.The study adopted the pre-test and post-test design of the experimental group control group.The children from two classes in the middle class were randomly selected as subjects.32 children in the experimental group and 30 children in the control group.After the pre-test,the experimental group underwent creative reading activities oncea week for a total of eight times,during which the control group received normal teaching activities,and finally carried out the post-test.The experimental data are tested,the experimental results are explained,and the experimental conclusions are obtained.At the same time,after the pre-test was completed,two children with medium level of creative thinking were selected for case interviews,and the results of observation and experimental study were verified by summarizing and analyzing the interview materials.After two months of systematic intervention,the study yielded the following results:(1)There were significant differences in creative thinking between the experimental group and the control group before and after the level of creative thinking,and there were significant differences in creative thinking and its various dimensions.(2)The post-test results of creative thinking and its dimensions in the experimental group were significantly higher than those in the pre-test group.(3)The creative thinking level of the two children who participated in the case interview changed greatly,which verified the effectiveness of the intervention program and the reliability of the experimental results.Therefore,the creative reading of picture books is effective to improve the development of creative thinking of children aged 4-5 years,and it can be used as one of the ways to cultivate creative thinking of children.
