The Chinese dream advocates to improve people's general health,which is essential to achieve prosperity and renewal of the Chinese nation.As children and teenagers can shape the future of China,it is rather important to carry out research on their physical health.According to the statistics in the Report on Physical Health of Chinese Students and other literature,the thesis conducts an analysis of physique indexes of students aged 7-18 years old in Han nationality of Shanxi province in the last decade so as to explore the dynamics and factors that affect their physical health and provide data support and reference for promoting physical health of children and teenagers.Results:1.Body shape:In the past 9 years,with both male and female students becoming taller and stronger,the physical shape disparity in rural and urban areas was further narrowed,while students in urban areas turned out to grow relatively slowly.By contrast,children and teenagers in rural areas grew fast with an obvious increase in physique indexes during the early stage of puberty.2.Physical function:Both male and female students in urban and rural areas showed a strong sign of better development.The urban-rural disparity in vital capacity was further narrowed.The obvious increase in physique indexes mostly appears at the early stage of puberty.3.Physical quality:Speed: In addition to the downward trend of urban boys,the speed quality of urban girls and both rural boys and girls were on the rise,but the trend wasnot obvious.Strength: The development of both rural and urban students was good in general,while the increase in physical strength of students in rural areas was more significantly than that in urban areas.That being said,the myodynamia of male and female students in both urban and rural areas was generally declining,especially for boys aged 7-12 in urban areas.Endurance: When it came to endurance,there was polarization between students aged 7-12 and 13-18.Among students aged 7-12,all except rural girls showed a decline in physical endurance,while the endurance of all students aged 13-18 was improved.Flexibility: The flexibility of urban and rural male students decreased significantly in the year from 2005 to 2010.There showed gender disparity in flexibility during the past 9 years with flexibility decline in boys and increase in girls both in rural and urban areas.Solution:1.In order to achieve the goal of improving people's health,governments need to improve regulations,make targeted policies,establish supervision mechanism,and work on evaluation and incentives and penalties system.That is how to make governments of varied levels put more attention to the physical health of children and teenagers.2.Children and teenagers need to be guided by school,parents and community to realize the importance of their physical health.Schools should attach importance to physical education,aiming at improving the health physique of students by doing more sports.School should play the leading role in improving both physical and mental health of children and teenagers in a way that encourages students' interests in sports.Parents should have a deep understanding of the concept of sports education,and take a positive attitude towards sports.They should also ensure that their children have a balanced diet,and an enabling environment for sports activities.The community should further improve laws and regulations,launch community sports organizations,expand sports training grounds and make sure that all resources are fully utilized.The community should also work together with schools and parents through “online and offline” services to ensuresustained sports and exercise.
