A Study On Betrothal Price In The Rural Under The Social Change

Betrothal price are an important part of our traditional culture of etiquette and custom.It has undergone changes for thousands of years.After the 1950 s,the betrothal price system can be passed down by the custom of the people.Since the late1970 s,all aspects of Chinese society have undergone unprecedented changes.With the development of rural economy and the increase of peasants' income,the living standard of peasants has been improved obviously.Betrothal price as a general social phenomenon in rural areas has also changed greatly.Taking the change of betrothal price in the village Q in city Y of Henan Province as research subject,the study made field investigation and reveals many factors for the change of betrothal price in rural areas based on relevant theories,such as community reason and social change,aiming to constantly enrich the related research.In this paper,the author investigated and analyzed the phenomenon of betrothal price in village Q by the method of field survey and face to face interview.The questionnaire survey mainly analyzes the status of the betrothal price in different age stages of the interviewees.The author investigated the amount and form of the betrothal price paid to the married people in different ages.The author interviewed the typical representative of the respondents to analyze the relationship between the changes in the content of the betrothal price and social change,community relationship in rural area.There are six parts in this paper.The first chapter introduces the research background,significance,the key points and research highlights and the literature review.The second chapter includes research design,related concepts theoretical support of the research,research ideas and the research methods of field investigation and selection of investigation and so on;The third chapter is the selection and overview of the survey site;The fourth chapter mainly analyzes the types of betrothal price in village Q and the detailed amount,the nature and the overview of betrothal price in village Q.The fifth chapter is about the existence and the reasons for the change of the betrothal price in village Q.The last chapter is the concluding part.
