Research On Higher Vocational Colleges Serving Local Economic And Social Development

This article takes the transition of Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational Technical College to serve the local economy and society as the example,using the literature research method,investigation method and case analysis method to study the current development of the college and the development of higher vocational education.Analyzing the ability of the college to serve local economic development with studying a large amount of data,the study found that the problems in the development of colleges under the business model for a long time.The problems are limited capacity to serve local economic and social development,lack of government guarantees for local governments and professional settings of scientific planning,unreasonable teacher team construction,Talent cultivation mode is behind,and so on.While analyzing the problems,we draw on the successful experience of local high-schools in serving local economic development,and put forward the ideas and methods for strengthening Baotou Iron and Steel Vocational Technical College to serve local economic and social development capabilities: enhancing college service awareness,local government guarantees the transformation of the college,to set up a professional setting with the theme of serving local economic and social development,and construct a balanced teacher team and establish a sound personnel training mechanism.
