China's Education Modernization 2035 and The Implementation Plan for Accelerating Education Modernization(2018-2022)both clearly point out that educators need to understand and grasp the characteristics of students' physical and mental development in the process of education,and follow the students' growth and development rules to carry out educational activities of teach students in accordance with their aptitude.Temperament is unique psychological activity characteristics of individuality,which can reflect the characteristics of individual development.Many researches show that there is a close relationship between students' temperament and academic scores.The research on student temperament and the relationship between temperament and academic achievement,which is conducive to understand the characteristics of students and implement the teaching principles of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude better.For the high school geography teachers to better implement the principle of teaching students in accordance with their aptitude in teaching.This study draws representative samples based on the comprehensive consideration of the differences between rural high schools and urban high schools,and different of school level.To carry out high school temperament survey with the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire Chinese Standard(EPQ-RSC).The author combines the results of this survey with the recently geography test to analyze the correlation between temperament and geographic achievement.Then,according to the case of targeted instructional design for the different temperament students and the importance of temperament factors in teaching students in accordance with their aptitude propose corresponding enlightenment.The results show that:(1)The nine temperaments classified by EPQ-RSC questionnaire are reflected in 305 surveys,and the proportion of each temperament distribution is different,which shows that the distribution of senior high school students' temperament is provided with diversity and imbalance.(2)The top three distribution of temperament in rural high schools are: 29 students with sanguine-phlegmatic temperament,accounting for 22.8% of the total number,29 students with mixed temperament,accounting for 22.8% of the total number.15 students with sanguine temperament,accounting for 11.8% of the total number.And the number of people with phlegmatic is the least with 2 people,accounting for 1.6% of the total.The top two distribution of temperament in urban high school are: 31 students with mixed temperament,accounting for 17.4% of the total number,26 students with sanguine temperament,accounting for 14.6% of the total number.And the number of people with phlegmatic is the least with 8 people,accounting for 4.5% of the total number.This shows that temperament is no difference in the distribution of rural and urban high school students basically.(3)The temperament of high school students is mixed type mainly.There are 195 students who mixes two or more types temperament such as sanguine-phlegmatic temperament,phlegmatic-melancholic temperament,accounting for 63.9% of the total number.There are 110 students with single temperament types such as sanguine temperament,phlegmatic temperament,choleric temperament,melancholic temperament,accounting for 36.1% of the total.(4)There is a significant difference between the temperament and geography scores of high school students,temperament and geographic scores are significantly correlated(chi-square test P=0.000<0.001).Among all types of temperament,students with sanguine temperament show advantage in geography learning,students with phlegmatic-melancholic temperament show temperament disadvantages in geography learning.(5)This research guided by the general high school geography curriculum standard(2017 edition),pre-class preparation,new curriculum introduction and new lessons are taught three teaching sessions with the greatest influence on temperament,and matching teaching strategies and mismatches are applied to students of different temperament.teaching strategy.It also presents targeted instructional design for student temperament differences.(6)This paper puts forward six points of enlightenment that combine temperament difference with geography teaching: to stimulate students' interest in geography learning based on students' temperament characteristics;combining the characteristics of geography to affect students' temperament imperceptibly and flexibility;facing the complexity of education,and adopting a variety of geography teaching methods;teachers should improve the level and strengthen the foresight of educating people;to evaluate students in a variety of ways and eliminate temperament discrimination and avoid stereotypes;temperament is only one way for educators to approach students.This study reveals a significant correlation between senior high school students' temperament and their geography scores.Through this study,to provide geographers with a way to understand the characteristics and levels of students' psychological development;to provide basis for teaching students in accordance with their aptitude,so that teachers can choose the teaching methods that best meet the characteristics and needs of students,and which also provide guarantees for the healthy development of students' physical and mental,enhances their academic performance.
