The teaching of classical Chinese is an important part of Chinese teaching in junior high school.There are 38 classical Chinese articles selected in the official junior Chinese textbooks,accounting for about 27% of the total number of articles in the official junior Chinese textbooks.Teachers and students spend a lot of energy on textbooks but the teaching effect is not ideal and it is difficult to improve the ability of students to read classical Chinese.The reason is that at present the teaching of classical Chinese in junior high school is mainly based on teacher's explanation and students receive knowledge passively.This kind of teaching method is difficult to stimulate students' interest in learning or mobilize their learning initiative.Therefore,changing the current teaching method of classical Chinese may solve the dilemma of classical Chinese teaching in the junior high school.There are different requirements and methods of guidance from the preview and classroom teaching to assignment in the teaching of classical Chinese in junior high school.For a long time,experts on Chinese teaching and scholars have done a lot of research with remarkable achievements.From 2013 to 2015,No.5 middle school of Jining district,Ulanqab city,where the author teaches,undertook the subject research of the national education science “12th five-year plan” the ministry of education planning project about “The Study on the Strategies and Methods of Teaching Less and Learning More in Primary and Secondary Schools Chinese Teaching”1.What's more,the author is one of the main participants.During this period,the project participants apply the concept of “less teaching and more learning” to the teaching of reading.After three years,their classes have an active learning atmosphere and learning initiative of students has been improved.By applying the research results to the teaching of classical Chinese in our school,we hope to solve the dilemma of the classical Chinese teaching and hope to provide other subjects and other schools with reference.This paper is mainly composed of three parts.The first part is the concept of “teaching less and learning more” and the achievements and shortcomings of the subject research in our school.“Less teaching” requires teachers to make efforts to understand students and return the initiative of leaning to students.The teacher and students carry on the teaching and learning by the mutual discussion.In the meantime,the teacher should pay attention to the dynamic learning state of the students and teach students in accordance of their aptitude.“More learning” not requires students to invest more time in their study but also cultivates the ability of active learning,independent learning and deep learning.The second part is the problems and causes of classical Chinese teaching in No.5 middle school of Jining district,Ulanqab city.For a long time,the teaching of classical Chinese in our school has been using the teaching mode of“cramming”.Most of the time is the teacher's explanation in classical Chinese class.In the process of explanation,teachers pay more attention to the knowledge of classical Chinese not to the charm of literary.In this way,students feel boring and tend to lose interest in classical Chinese learning.If students' learning interest is not strong,they are inefficient to learning.This traditional teaching model is increasingly inconsistent with the laws of education and the reality of students.As a result,the classroom teaching of classical Chinese in our school is not efficient.The third part is the application of the concept of "less teaching and more learning" in the teaching of classical Chinese in no.5 middle school of Jining district,ulanqab city.During the preview,teachers divide the difficulty level of classical Chinese translation and give corresponding guidance to students to eliminate their fear,and guide students to write the first reading experience and stimulate students' interest in learning.Teachers understand students,andestablish democratic,equal,and harmonious teacher-student relationships with students,build students' self-confidence,and create a harmonious atmosphere for students to "learn more" in the classroom.In class.teachers determine the teaching content based on the students' first reading experience and the students' performance in the classroom to stimulate students' interest in learning.Teachers guide students' learning methods according to the teaching content,and improve students' ability to read classical Chinese through active learning,independent learning,and deep learning.After class,teachers guide students to do word accumulation and gradually improve the knowledge structure of students.Teachers design step-wise homework to improve students' ability to read classical Chinese.The teaching record of "Room Room Inscription" shows the teaching effect of applying the concept of "less teaching and more learning" to our school's classical Chinese pre-training,classroom teaching and homework assignments.
