Since the cooperation between the Ministry of Education of Thailand and the Office of the Chinese National Chinese International Promotion Leading Group(Hanban)in2006,Chinese courses have been offered in Thailand,whether it is kindergartens,primary schools,secondary schools,universities,vocational colleges,and even tutoring schools.In addition,Hanban will send a large number of Chinese volunteer teachers to teach in Thailand every year.The exchange programs of various schools are also increasing.From mid-May to late September 2018,the author taught at the Malasawanphittaya School near the Thai Batu Palace in the identity of the Chinese International Education Intern at Guangxi Normal University.This has enabled the author to further understand the situation of Thai middle school students learning Chinese and the common problems,such as the lack of Chinese language curriculum management,weak teacher resources,low professional quality of local teachers,low Chinese proficiency,difficult teaching materials,single teaching facilities,and examinations.The system is not perfect.Therefore,this paper takes the author's school as the main research object,comprehensively discusses the current situation of Chinese teaching in the school,points out the problems in Chinese teaching,and puts forward suggestions and strategies.This article is divided into six chapters to discuss:The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research background and the reasons for the topic,and then explains the significance of the research.Then the time proposed by the “Belt and Road” policy is the demarcation point to present the research status related to the content of this paper,and the research of the paper method.The second chapter mainly has two aspects.Firstly,it introduces the Mala school in Thailand and its overall teaching from the aspects of geographical location,daily school activities,basic situation of students,composition of teachers and their sources,followed by curriculum setting and classroom arrangement.Introduction to Chinese language teaching in schools,textbook selection,Chinese testing,and teaching facility configuration.The third chapter uses questionnaires to understand the situation of students learning Chinese.The main package questionnaire description and questionnaire survey results are analyzed.The student's questionnaire analysis is divided into thestudent background,the motivation of students' learning,the obstacles to learning Chinese,the interest in Chinese lessons,the necessity and possibility of using Chinese,the evaluation of students' teaching materials,the evaluation of students' teachers,and the Chinese test..The fourth chapter analyzes the problems existing in Chinese teaching in Mala school.According to the questionnaire data survey,the problems are divided into the following categories: the school leaders' understanding of Chinese teaching,the problems of Chinese teachers in schools,the problems of classroom teaching,and the selection of school textbooks.Problems,problems with teaching facilities.The fifth chapter considers the problems discovered above and proposes corresponding solutions.First of all,we must improve the Chinese curriculum and strengthen teaching management.It is also a top priority to ensure the source of teachers and students and to improve the quality of teachers.Secondly,in terms of teaching materials,it is necessary to select teaching materials suitable for the student level.In teaching,we must use a variety of teaching methods to increase the diversity of Chinese teaching.Finally,seize the characteristics of Thai students and increase Chinese activities.Finally,the sixth chapter concludes with a summary of the full text,and explains the innovations and shortcomings of this article.The author hopes that the research will be helpful for the development of Chinese teaching in Thai Mala School and other middle schools in Thailand,and provide effective reference materials for developing Chinese teaching in middle school in Thailand.
