On the national high education institutions' ideology and politics education meeting hold in December 2016,President Xi Jinping stated that utilizing New Media to vitalize our work on students' ideology and politics education;and driving the fusion of the traditional advantage and the state-to-art information technologies to catch the times and gain attractivity.In the New Media era,with the development of internet and portable intelligence devices techniques,various micro obj ects and Micro New Media showed up.It is the time when the 'Micro Education in Ideology and Politics' is born.'Micro Education in Ideology and Politics' is the application of the Long Tail theory in the field of high education institutions' ideology and politics education.In 'Micro Education in Ideology and Politics',the characteristics of social and media environment have changed from the traditional way--single,official and unequal to more New Media type--interactive,open,virtual,global,equal and real-time.The rising of the New Media deeply influences the behavior,life style and the values of college students.Therefore,education institutions should not stick to the old rules.Involving and intaking new technologies and concepts and implementing new education mode and methodology is the key to improve our ability to guide students both from internal through their thoughts and from external to their behaviors.In order to striving to improve the effeteness and specificity of the education and pursuing further development,the comprehensive understanding of the study and behavior pattern for the students of the time and the transformation of the understanding to a new guide book is very crucial.If the institutions cannot react along the trend of the New Media or they cannot combine technologies into the education in time,their teaching must be limited and stumped in comparison of the effectiveness and wide spread of the New Media.In the time we stand,the development and implementation of 'Micro Education in Ideology and Politics' by the Long Tail theory and the exploration of a unique methodology for the specific situation we faced is extremely urgent.
